Dude was one of the best slot corners you keep him even if it's just a depth piece. Having too many good corners is never a problem.

1. There is absolutely no reason you let him go

2. He’s always been just a slot guy. That’s never not been the case.

3. Bland starts outside and Lewis inside. Lewis is one of the best slot cbs in the nfl. No thanks on cutting him.
This^^^. I think the boys have no depth at CB behind Diggs and Bland; unless you want Joseph on the field. I think Dallas learned that one can never have enough DBs last year.

If he’s healthy I agree

He’s getting cut. Dallas has been trying to phase him out but haven’t been able to bring in a better…until they traded for Gilmore and found a gem in Bland. They now have three starting worthy corners that fit their prototype as opposed to Lewis who is coming off an injury to boot.

Is it possible he can’t be cut yet because of injury? That is a terrible injury to try and recover from.

He could save $5 million in a cut.

He's coming off injury and is basically a slot guy at this point. But we have a cheaper, maybe better option in Bland. With Brown likely gone, I really hope they aren't thinking of putting Lewis or Bland outside opposite Diggs.

Don't think he ultimately sticks around at that cost but there is no reason to get rid of him yet. He's a guy who you could get to take a pay cut leading up to final cuts. But also a guy who you might want to keep around if there is an injury and Joseph and new picks don't look like they can take the load.

I think they move on. Not a Quinn proto-typical CB. Coming off injury, cap savings, fairly deep CB draft..Bland rising, Gilmore trade .quite a bit going against Lewis. He'll get paid by someone though.

Lewis, Tyron Smith, and Zeke are all question marks at this point.

For Lewis the Cowboys will probably wait to see what happens at the draft.

What's it going to be then, eh?

And what do you do with that five million, Stephen?

JL is depth. Look how many CB they needed last year. Im no fan of his but maybe see what happens in camp. Would be better if joseph or wright would step up.

Keep him as valuable depth. He's been solid when healthy. Somebody always gets dinged up at CB and he'll certainly be called upon at some point.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Mukuamu played in the slot in the playoffs and looked really good.

So your starting three would be Diggs, Gilmore, and Bland with Bland backing up the outside corners and Mukuamu the backup slot corner.

Also, while Joseph and Wright were disappointments as outside corners, they were good special teamers and we have already lost a couple of our important special teamers in FA, I don't know if we want to cut one for Lewis.

5 million seems like a lot for 4th/5th CB that is not great at special teams.

5 million can probably net us a nice NT in FA.

No reason to cut him now. They require 3 "starters" at CB but they only have 2. They could play Lewis as the Nickel CB with Bland outside if needed.

Obviously they'll attempt to add 1 or more CBs in the offseason but until a proven 3rd CB is available they might as well keep Lewis (unless Lewis is not expected to recover in time for training camp).

Jourdan Lewis is now the 4th CB ..(Diggs, Gilmore, Bland) and another problem is Lewis is strictly a slot CB,,, he doesn't have the size. length and speed needed to play the outside...
