Keep in mind that the first team offense will probably only play one series.

-Jon Kinta throwing to Miles Austin and Sam Hurd.
We need the 2 recievers to step up and we need to know if the offense can click if Romo goes down.

-Felix Jones, catching the ball.
I think we know what he can do as a runner, but there are a lot of questions as to what he can do as a reciever.

-Marty B
With his size and athleticsm he could probably develop into a pro-bowl TE if he can stay focused.

-Doug Free
Definately need a solid and thorough outing from him. I actually would like for him to start the 2nd preseason game if he plays well thursday.

-Bobby Carpenter
Face it fellas we need him to play and be productive this year. It's now or never due to neccesity, but if he can prove himself in the nickel, he may show enough to be a starter next season.

-Orlando Scandrick, Mike Mickens, Deangelo Smith and Mike Hamlin
We struggled in the secondary last year and had very few ints, this group should atleast be able to help in that area (Hamlin probably won't play much in reg season) when the games count.

-Buehler.......Buehler.......Buehler
It's all about the touchbacks. He'll be worth the extra roster spot and gameday roster spot if he consistently kicks the ball in the endzone.

First and foremost, I want to see 0 injuries.

Secondly, would love to see the starters get a touchdown on their first and only drive of the day. (Preferrably a Romo to RW TD pass, but whatever works for me).

Looking forward to seeing Felix back, but I doubt he plays much, probably for precautionary reasons.

Want to see improvements by the 2nd year guys and hopefully a diamond from 1 of our draft picks this year.

Come to think of it, I would like to see Felix try a few punt returns. Even if he's instructed to only fair catch, just seeing him field a few would be nice

First and foremost, football. I'm still not over last season, but seeing the start of a fresh season could give me some hope that things may get better.

From a player standpoint

Junior Siavii/Tim Anderson/Jonas Seawright - I have zero confidence that any of these guys can play. I'm hoping to see them do ANYTHING to convince me otherwise.

Doug Free - I'm frightened of Flozell Adams going into 2009 and I have even less confidence in this guy. I want to see him dominate the 2nd and 3rd team players he'll lineup against.

Bobby Carpenter - For whatever reason, I like Bobby. I'm not about individual players for the most part and I'm quick to turn on one I don't think is pulling his weight. Carpenter hasn't pulled his, but I can't help but feel that he's someone that's gotten a bad break and can be a good player in the NFL. It's time for him to go from training camp allstar to at least a contributor in actual games though.

Finally, I want the first team offense to do well. I think the 3rd game is the most important for that unit, but I can't say I won't be disappointed if they don't look good against Oakland of all teams.

Those silver and blue uniforms bringing in a new season on my tv screen. After that I'll mainly focus on the rookies.

Mainly, I'd like to see Romo and RW hooking up on passes and being in sync w/one another, a decent pass rush from the youngsters and good safety coverage. No injuries would help also.

Besides FOOTBALL!!!!.........

I always like to watch individual matchups in the preseason.

They don't scheme much this early and winning and losing means next to nothing (note the Lions 4-0 preseason and 0-16 regular season last year), but you can gauge how the players look anyway. Can the olineman hold their own? Can the DBs cover? etc

So besides just the fun of watching football, I approach it more like a talent and player status evaluation. Mainly, I just soak in the fun of the NFL starting again.

For me hitting. I love the contact aspect of this game so much. I want to hear the shoulder pads crack and the helmets clack and the players grunt.

I don't care about winning in the pre season at all.

The backup linemen need to establish themselves as capable backups.

I think we know Felix is going to be a force, along with Barber and Choice. I'd also like to see some great play out of the young corners and safeties. I'd also like to see one razzle-dazzle play from Bennett Somthing for the NFC East scouts to take back to the east coast.

While I realize the point of pre-season I still cringe when starters are in so the thing I am most looking forward to is an injury free Cowboy team Friday morning.

In general I'm just looking forward to seeing the team line up and play.

One specific area of interest is kickoffs.

I'm curious if the flow of the kickoff return team will look much different on television as a result of the new wedge rule. I'm also looking forward to seeing Buehler try to boom a few into the end zone.
