What are you watching for in tonight's game?*Merged*

Here's what I'm watching,

* MB3 and JJ battle for the starting role

* Tony Romo to be steady and spread the ball around and not force things

*Stanbach on ST and can he carve a role. Miles Austin bubble watch also

* Backup NT - we have a void there. I fear we are going to slide Rat in there out of necessity.

* Burnett, Ayodele and James. Not sold Ayodele holds off Burnett this year. Time to put playmakers on the field.

* Carp outside and Special teams. To dress he needs to handle ST roles

* Backup CB job, guys are playing for jobs tonight.

*Roy in the box, and nickel role

* Big game for PK's. Kid has to prove he can make a pressure kick and may unseat Grammy.

I think I read the RB battle will be put on hold tonight and Barber is gunna get the lions share of the work tonight. Then the new RB we signed in the 4th game will get the good look. Not sure about this, just what I am thinking I read somewhere.

I would like to get an extended look at Stanback at KR/WR and maybe PR.

I also would like to see Romo being efficient, and not force things. Rather him take a sack or throw it away

That's the main thing.

This "scare" with Newman has got me on edge. We could play a very good defense, if we are forced to, without Newman for a short period. But once teams got more game film on us, we could pay dearly. I don't want this team to be a very good defense when we have the potential to be a great one.

If we have to many injuries on one side of the ball or the other, we could tank the season. And even though that is true for any season or any team, I just have really high expectations for this season and don't want injuries to be the undoing of it.

If we tank, I would rather it be that we just tanked.

With the Ellis injury, you really think that our nickel backer/blitzer/backup to Spencer needs to shine on ST to dress for games?

there isnt a battle for the starting job...you guys just waste time talking about it every week

I could see Stanback getting alot of work the next two games in hpes he could be active on game days during regular season...he probably isnt beating out Hurd for #4 though so unless he can return kicks, he probably is going to be inactive every game

yeah, it could be the 4th and 5th CB's are people not on our roster now

doubt they give away alot of that until week one...he's been closer to the LOS and moved around in nickel, but alot of his new stuff I am sure we havent seen

bottom line is I dont care what happens these next two games as long as nobody gets hurt...I know we have a good team from what I've seen already

2. I'd like to see a vertical game of some sort offensively obviously.

4. Hamlin, make a play for us.
5. Folk, take the job by the throat and run with it Folk.

7. Stanback, return punts a kick or something to show me your speed.
8. Carpenter/Spencer/Burnett --- Who seperates themselves?
9. NT - Is it Ayodele, I hope it is. I hope he has another great performance.
10 Spears - This guy has impressed me the last 2 games, he might be starting to take over some sort of leadership on that defense.

I'm wanting to see if Romo can continue to be efficient against a team that will be gameplanning him. This is the third PS game, so both teams will be using this as their "dress rehearsal".

Can our defense continue to put pressure on opposing QBs, while still stopping the run?

How much will we miss Newman? I know that he'll probably be ok for the season, but if we do lose him for any amount of time, how bad will it be?
