So long as you can scheme to keep Brown in the slot, ..and keep him from being outside and having to defend downfield on fly-go vertical routes, he can be
an asset to you.
He still has issues turning his head and playing the ball in air on go route. Just lacks a feel for that.
- Some Lewis fans are not gonna wanna hear this, but Brown is a better pure man coverage guy than Lewis -when it comes to defending the slot.
He makes his best plays when he's facing the QB, and headed forward. Per his INTs last year when he was in zone.
and he can be a adequate tackler in run support.
- Earlier in his career, he used to be fairly durable, but nowadays he's had problems staying healthy the last two years.
You don't want to have to start either Brown or Lewis on the outside CB role per injury sub.
- Now that they have drafted Nashon Wright as early as 3rd rd. i'd expect him to be on field very often, and going after someone's role and reps
but with Wright being so tall and so leggy i wouldn;t think he wouldn't seem idea for a slot role.
But maybe he can be Antonio Cromartie like in being a very tall CB that's able to defend both outside and slot very efficiently.
