What are your expectations now?

I think it is safe to say that nobody on this board or even on this planet ever seriously predicted Dallas would be 11-1 right now. In fact, if you look at the preseason prediction thread a lot of posters either didn't have us making the playoffs at all or if we did it was like a 9 to 10 win season max.

So with that being said, what is your expectations now and what will you consider a successful season? Is it SuperBowl or bust, making it to the NFC Championship Game even if we lose, or will just winning a single playoff game be considered a positive outcome to this season?

Personally, I think the team has to atleast make it to the NFC Championship Game. If a team starts the season 11-1 and doesn't even make it to the NFCCG, that is called a choke job. If we lose a hard fought NFC title game to Seattle, I will be disappointed of course, but I think we all would have signed up for that at the beginning of the season.

Making it to the SuperBowl would be a dream, even if we lost to the Patriots. Winning the SuperBowl would be beyond words, my heart probably couldn't take it but at least I would go out with a smile on my face:D

Nothing short of NFCC

Next season, after free agency and draft (DE/defense) -- SB.

Although, if we lay a stinker in the NFCC, I will be disappointed.

This is, as it stands, a Super Bowl team, relative to the rest of the league. So maybe I would be a bit disappointed with a NFCC loss :)

I have high expectations for this squad, so, actually, as my thoughts evolve in this post, and due to "windows" being finicky, maybe it should be "Super Bowl or bust?"

Dak, Zeke, and our Oline wall will present us with a great window that will offer us a window for the next decade (kinda like ARod in GB/Tom in NE/Ben in PIT) so maybe it isn't Super Bowl or bust.

Wow, the emotional ups and down in this post.

I WANT A SUPERBOWL DARNIT :)

realistically? I think NFC championship game. but i know im gona be dissapointed with anything short of a Superbowl.

ill be dissapointed but optimistic. if that makes sense

If we don't beat ourselves with turnovers and penalties, then I expect a SB win, because we are the best, most consistent team in the league, we are built for cold weather and we are built to win on the road and in gritty battles.

I won't be disappointed if we don't win the SB, because its been an amazing season, but I do think we are the SB favorites right now.

Remove Cowboys Helmet -> Insert Super Bowl LI Trophy.

I think we win a playoff game and lose in the championship round.

Can't win a Super Bowl with no pass rush and a defense who can't get a turnover to save their lives. I predict next year is our year.

I am with that second point brah. Given the rest of the league I ask why not us? I am thinking SB and I've been on that wavelength for a while now. Let's do this!!!

HFA, and then the playoffs are a crapshoot. There are no truly great teams this year, including the Cowboys. The postseason games will be 50-50, maybe a bit better in the divisional round as a lesser team may make it through the WC round. So call it 1 in 3-3.5 to reach the Super Bowl, 1 in 6-7 to win it.

The Patriots just got hit with some really bad news on Gronkowski...who looks done for the year with back surgery for a herniated disc on the immediate horizon. Without Gronk, their chances of even making it to the SuperBowl are reduced. You don't simply replace a guy like that...they will miss him, especially because he is a nightmare match-up...and now the offense of the Patriots becomes easier to defend against. I'm sure Brady will compensate the best that he can but it has to be seen as a major blow to their post-season aspirations.

Sitting at 11-1.........nothing short of a Super Bowl appearance. I could live with an NFCC game loss if close and against only Seattle.

If this team ends up at 14-2 and we lose the first playoff game, I would consider that a failure
Depending on how the seeding and games unfold...weird circumstances could have the Giants coming to Dallas in the divisional round...just like in 2007...gulp!...or that vaunted Commanders offense. The problem is that any wildcard team(s) from the East will be seeded either fifth and/or sixth, making the chances of a divisional round encounter with Dallas much higher.

Yup, and I will not be happy losing to an East team......that is a failure to me if this team goes in at the #1 seed

Everyone assumes we'll be better next year, but these kind of seasons dont occur year in year out, unless maybe you're New England. I know we have significant flaws on defense, but this is a special season. This may be as good of a chance that we got to win to a Super Bowl as we're gonna get for awhile.

We haven't had a year like this since 2007 and everyone assumed we were gonna be contenders for years to come after that. It didn't quite turn out like that. We're getting that #1 seed. We can't let it go to waste and there's not a team in the NFC that I'll be ok with losing against, especially the damn Giants.

If we do our job, we're getting to the Super Bowl

I sure didn't I expected 4-6 wins. It's been a great season. The future isn't dark like it was before. Really happy to be a Cowboys fan agsin Things are looking up.
