What are your thoughts on Phidarian Mathis

Bigger DT at 315 has shown some versatility being able to play both 1T and 3T. Good pass rush production this season with 8 sacks. Seen some places reference marginal arm length, which is never ideal for a DT.

Do you see him as a day 1 or day 2 prospect? Do you think he is a good fit here

I think he’s a Day 2 prospect. Good football player. Certainly a fit but all depends on what’s available.

Day 2 - he’s VERY similar to Christian Barmore. Not as natural as a pass-rusher but a better run defender than Barmore.

He's a very poor man's DarRon Payne. Payne is at least exceptionally strong. Mathis is pedestrian to me.

Day 2 guy. Yes, I think Mathis fits well with the Cowboys DL. Phil is stout at POA and has a good swim and motor to get hustle sacks. Dallas is already loaded up with 2nd n 3rd round picks at DT already with Gally, Osa, Hill...then Big Bo is a draft pick also...so that would be a lot of draft capital recently at the position.

I think they may look at the interior DL in the late rounds. It’s not a strength of this draft class.

Agree. I think the need is way down the line, at least at the moment.
