What are your thoughts on the big DT's in this draft

Keanu Benton is my favorite DT outside of Carter who we have no shot at. Benton is crazy strong and has consistently improved as a pass rusher every season. He’s at the top of my list for our 2nd round pick.

Benton is the only one who does much for me and I like him a lot. I think he's the only 3 down player of the group. DTs take a long time to develop and I can promise Dallas hasn't given up on Bohanna yet as their big man in the middle. I like Jerrod Clark as a late round pick too.

I’d imagine Gervon Dexter is definitely going in the top 120.

Zacch Pickens from South Carolina may very well too. I like him a good bit

Karl Brooks from bowling green could possibly slip into the back 120 as well.

But overall not a ton of depth in this DT class. Only goes about 6 or 7 deep…although I’m sure there will be a sleeper or 2 that can succeed.

Benton reminds me alot of of Payne. Not a 340 lbs guy, but can play like he is with freakish strength.

I think Jaquelin Roy from LSU is decent 1 Tech prospect too. 6’4 315 and looks plenty strong. Doesn’t excite me as a potential pro-bowler or anything, but could be a very solid rotational 1 te h.

If we’re talking 1Ts Ika is the clear cut #1 for me. I don’t see much difference from him and Davis (way overdrafted last year). Davis probably a slightly better run defender but Ika a much better pass rusher as a prospect.

The challenge is snap count so I still wouldn’t take him at 26.

You should add Roy to your list from LSU. Won’t give you pass rush but dudes a black hole against the run.

I think they are all risky and the fat guard from Florida is risky as well.

These types always fall every draft, I loved Travis Jones last yr, he ended up being a 3rd rd pick, the same with McNeil the prior year. That is probably there range.

I like them all. I'm probably biased on Coburn. I met him briefly or had a short conversation with him at the sandwich shop. Dude just looks like a defensive tackle. In fact, I asked him, "let me guess. You're a defensive tackle?"

He smiled said yes and went on his way.

But he needs the most work and plays pretty slow.i see him as a 6th rounder.


I see the others as potential round 1 - 3 guys.

I haven't seen all on the list but have watched clips of Ika.

Still think his draft range is very fluid and can go from the 1st to mid 2 day and it'll all depend on the combine/pro-day.

Would love if he fell to the Cowboys round 2 pick, but I think some team will draft him early 2 day and hope he can be an instant 2 down player with 3 down potential in year 2-3.

I think Smith will excite some team with his explosiveness/athletic ability for his size and then just see if they can coach him up.

I would of taken Jones over Sam Williams last year, but as we know teams value pass rush way more any stopping the run. What we know is, last 2 seasons they drafted day 3 NT's without much luck. This forced them to trade for Hankins during the season. Will they make it more of a draft or fa priority now?

I think every year fans fetishize over the big uglys.

I think Mazi Smith is several overrated. He may show some tools at the combine but he never actually put it together at Michigan.
I do like Becton and think the Daron Payne comp is apropos.
