I love to keep track of the Cowboys and their records. It has been such a privilege to have watched all of the Super Bowls the Cowboys have played in during their illustrious history.

Here are a few things Cowboys can look forward to as the Divisional Playoff Game with Minnesota this Sunday:

1. This will be the UNPRECEDENTED 58th Postseason Game for the Cowboys. Yes, that is 58 postseason games in 50 years!

2. Dallas will be playing for their UNPRECEDENTED 34th postseason victory. In recent years, the Steelers have crept up to within one until the Cowboys win over the Eagles last Sunday. Right now, the cushion is two (33 to 31).

3. Dallas is 4-2 against Minnesota in the postseason. The Cowboys are 2-1 at home and 2-1 in Minnesota. Three of the four times Dallas beat Minnesota, they have gone on to the Super Bowl (Super Bowls VI, X, & XII).

4. Now that Wade Phillips has won a postseason game for Dallas, he is still on the hot seat. Every other Cowboys Head Coach that has won a playoff game has eventually gone on to win a Super Bowl. (Landry, Johnson, & Switzer)

5. A Dallas win on Sunday in Minnesota would mean that the Cowboys keep their streak alive by playing in a Conference Championship Game in every decade of their existance. This is still considered the 2009 season.

6. A Dallas win on Sunday in Minnesota would mean that Brett Favre is still winless against the Cowboys in the postseason.

7. A Dallas win on Sunday in Minnesota would mean that the Cowboys still have a shot at breaking down the FINAL WALL.

Final Wall? ..... what final wall?

WINNING A SUPER BOWL IN MIAMI!!!!!

Did we forget about that? The opportunity is still there.

But the Cowboys HAVE to beat Minnesota.

One step at a time, grasshopper.

Oh, I am certainly aware of that.

At the same time, I was curious as to how many Cowboy fans remembered the Miami wall?

That opportunity doesn't come every year.

That only applies to the players. Fans can look ahead all we want. If the players start doing it, we're in trouble.

Still, sometimes I wonder if I should try to calm down?

I'm 45 now, but I am 1992 geeked!

these three in particular were great info for me.. i knew we were #1 in all-time postseason wins, but i didn't know the Steelers had crept that close.. and i love #5, it would be cool to keep that streak alive..

That's why we need to play the Colts this year in Miami, we owe them. If that happens we will have beaten every team we lost to in SB games.

I like it. My kind of stuff. How about I add something from my stash. This will be the 3rd time we have played on this calendar date.

The first time was Super Bowl V against the Colts.

The 2nd time was the 1992 NFC Championship against the 49ers that propelled us to Super Bowl XXVII against the Bills.

I remember a game against the Vikings a decade ago, Emmitt went wild...I was so young then, so I don't remember the details, but I was happy as a pig in **** during that game. Hoping for more of the same this week, just from Felix instead of Emmitt

Oh yeah, I forgot.

A win against Minnesota would also mean an UNPRECEDENTED 17th Conference Championship appearance.

Conference Championship years:
1966, 1967, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977,
1978, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995.

Adding 2009 would be sweet!

What other teams can boast that? None in the NFL.

BTW take a good look at that list of Conference Championship years.

Do you see what I see?

I see TWELVE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES IN A SEVENTEEN YEAR SPAN!

Only 68, 69, 74, 76, & 79 Dallas didn't make it that far.

For you young ones, if you want to point to why fans of other teams hate Dallas so much, that is the main reason right there.
