What bothers me most

When looking back to last season, and seeing what is going on this pre-season, this is what bothers me.

1. I really feel like the 2009 season was not lost in Minnesota in January. It was lost in those two early losses against the Giants and the Broncos in the first four weeks. This is not to minimize the other regular season losses, but both of the first two losses were totally inexcusable.

2. Now with Dallas looking like they still need a full training camp to get it all together, the Cowboys can ill afford dropping any of the first three games before the bye.

In order to get a BYE in the post-season, you cannot be dropping games. If the Cowboys are not fully prepared for the 2010 season, Dallas can easily drop a game in Washington, home for the Bears, or in Houston.

And you know the Commanders and Texans will be playing their Super Bowl in Weeks 1 and 3 respectively.

That is my main concern right now. I feel Dallas MUST be 3-0 going into the Bye week to prepare for the onslaught of Tennessee, NY Giants, and Minnesota afterwards.

I agree, if we started playing better football from the on start, we find ourselves the #1 seed or at worst the #2 seed. We don't play in Minnesota would have been sure enough.

That said I'm not afraid of Tennessee, or New York. I'm not really afraid of the Vikings persay, but I don't feel like we're going to just walk over them.

Week 6 is a statement week for us.

We supposedly have one of the hardest schedules in the nfl, yet I see very winnable games (at least based on last years talent)

Galian,

I truly believe that this team can beat any team any where. I do think the first three games are easier than the second set of three games.

Dallas can't afford to drop any games.

I hate to sound like a J.O. here, but don't you believe Wade, Jerry and every other person in the org know this.

Ya of course. Get off to a good start, win the easier games.

But what are you suggesting we do differently to make it happen?

Or what do you think Wade isn't doing to make it happen?

That first Giants game was just too flukish. There was no way we were winning that game no matter what happened. Nothing would go our way.

The Broncos game....eh, we just flat out got beat. No excuses we just flat out got beat. Sometimes that happens, you just have to deal with it and move on. Then Miles exploded and so did our offense...

Manster68,

You raise a very valid point...and while some fans may argue that you can't look at early losses as the reason for losing in the playoffs, we all know how much different it would have been to play Minnesota at home.

I think the biggest message of your post is that EVERY game is crucial...and it's a point I wholeheartedly agree with. Our team can't allow themselves to become complacent early on, and convince themselves that they will find their rhythm and continue to improve. They need to come out swinging, and firing on all cylinders...never looking back until they are celebrating on the floats of the championship parade.

Boy..you aren't kidding. That ball that deflected off of Witten's foot, which ended up in a touchdown? ...I can't remember, but it was a turnover for sure.

....and that Giant's touchdown with the LUCKIEST catch since their SB

Yeah you just chalk it up being one of those games.

We were 11-5 last year in one of the toughest divisions in football. And the NFCE is going to be a bear again this year.

Geez, we aren't going to win every game.

I just hope we beat Washington the first week.

The crowd noise would have been Cowboys friendly, but I'm not so certain of the outcome if Flozell Adams had suffered the same game-ending injury at home as he did at Minnesota.

It still amazes me how some downplayed the luck factor of that fluke play last year in a 2-point win for the Giants.

probably because that horrible pass deserved to go the other way for a TD, even though it was lucky as ****

Romo lost that G-Men game, plain and simple. However, I think it worked out for us in the end because he started protecting the football far better than he ever has after that game.

Isn't Dallas and Wade known as the team that gets off to a good start and then fades towards the end and that we are supposed to go into the playoffs on a hot streak? Now we just need to start winning early? Which is it?
