What can Joe Milton learn from Dak?

Cherry picking and goalpost moving can't be allowed if we're going to have a legit conversation. There can't be one set of standards for Cowboys quarterbacks (especially Romo and Dak) and then cherry picking and excuses for other NFL quarterbacks.
You're the one who obfuscates and cherry picks the conversation into illegitimacy.

You do this by moving the goalposts from the individual performance of the player to the "team game" fallacy. I know your immediate reaction to that is "oh, your saying that it doesn't take a team to win a SB?" No. Of course I, nor anyone else is saying that. What I am saying is that it is entirely possible to evaluate an individual without holding him to standards that he can't possibly meet because those standards do require help from the team to meet. Standards such as winning the SB.

However, watching the QB stink in a high profile game and giving him a pass because of weaknesses in other areas of the team is about as goalpost moving and cherry picking as it gets. What any other QB did or does has no relevance to what this QB did or does regarding his individual abilities.

In January of 2017 I called Dak as he has turned out to be. Fools gold. A QB who can look fantastic in some areas but has fatal flaws which will doom him and the team from ever reaching the top. And yes Gin, it might be possible to put together a dream team to carry Dak to the top but that is very unlikely AND if that is the case then he should never have been given the richest contract in league history.

I kind of do understand where you are trying to come from here. It is pretty rare to have a guy who does have the disparity of good vs bad that Dak has. I understand how that can make it difficult to see the truth for those that are prone to seeing the truth they want rather than the truth that is.

That’s the word I like: Intrigued. I’m more intrigued by Milton due to what the Patriots side said. A lot of the play by play and radio guys that follow the Patriots said he made “major strides” with his accuracy and reading defenses. He does that 3D VR thing and they talked about how that helped his decision making and reading defenses. There’s also a lot of talk in Patriot land that Milton carried himself as tho he should be QB1 and made it known he felt he should be and wanted to be. According to them that made Drake. “Uncomfortable”. I like that alpha male trait in my QB. I’m not putting a lot of stock in Milton right now but I’m looking forward to seeing him in preseason. But I feel we won the trade if he can be on par or a little less than Rush. I think right now he’s better than Lance so I almost feel we won the trade by getting a more talented and accomplished version of Lance for literally 1/6 the cost. My expectations is he will be better than Lance but if Rush was still here he wouldn’t beat out Rush for QB2.

As far as coaching staff and QBs. I am wanting to see Schotty improve the accuracy and reading defenses with Dak as well. Also help Dak mentally in big games. If that happens then it’s a good hire. If not then it’s more of the same. If Schotty can help Dak in those areas then he can help Milton. If Milton can get his brain and body on the same QB page we may have something there.

But, intriguing is the best word. And this will make the preseason a lot more fun. I’m excited now for TC and the preseason just because a new guy will be there not named Rush, Grier, or Lance.
Everything you heard about Milton is what I've been reading myself. For sure, he's gonna push Dak...not retreat under his wings like Trey Lance did.

Correct, so why do people bring Dak up in topics that aren't about him? I just responded to the people bringing him into conversations and referring to him as a "bum" and "mediocre".

So who's at fault here?? The people that originally jump off topic and bring Dak into topics that isn't about him, or the people that responded to the people who were off topic?

Can't wait to see how you address this one....
Hey, smart mouth! Look at the title of the thread. Is Dakky Poo's name in the title?

You called Dak a bum as well. I can't wait until you tell me the names of other bum quarterbacks who have become an All-Pro, have been in the top 10, and became an MVP candidate.

You always run like a true coward when asked a simple question like that. Either that or you deflect.

Make your weak *** logic line up with reality lil bro.

What other bum quarterbacks besides Dak have done those things I've listed above? Show us you can grow a pair and tell us the names of the other bums. Surely Dak couldn't be the only one in NFL history, correct?

Naw not 2016…..2023 was for sure though.
2016 we were stacked on offense, not as much on defense. But that 2016 offensive line was amazing. I wish we had a couple more playmakers on defense in 2016. That offense tho:
Rookie Zeke
Prime Martin
Prime Dez
Prime Fredbeard
O’Leary
Prime Tyron
Twill, he was a good 2nd WR
Prime Witten

Man that offense was good.

2016 was the most talented team Dak has played on ...period. Zeke and Zach Martin in their prime. Witten still had HOF thread on the tire. I'll give him that he didn't choke that game away, but he did lose. Since then he's had stacked teams and he was the reason why we lost because he choked. And to make matters worse, even with stacked teams, when we face SF or KC or any other top team like Buffalo Dak goes into his deer-in-headlights shell. This is undebatable at this point.

That’s the thing man I don’t think that was prime Dez and Witten. Prime Zeke and Cole for sure. Offensive line was incredible. I think prime Dez ended in 2015…

I disagree, I think Witten and Dez was out of their prime.

I'm not sure about this. From what I read, it was the defense's fault, the ref's fault, the penalties, the Sun in his eyes, etc. When Dak is playing and the team wins, it's because of Dak. If the team loses, well, that damn team did not do it's job to help him. The poor dude.

Yeah I can see prime Dez ending in 2015 when he broke his foot in the first game. Dez and Witten may not have been prime but they still were playing at a high level in 2016. That offensive line was unreal. Zeke was unreal. That was a fun year

It was. It was a great season. But I feel if it was truly stacked they would’ve won more than 4 games the year prior and most of those games came from Romo. So almost lost all games….now it’s worth noting Zeke wasn’t here and McFadden was great but he wasn’t Zeke that year.

Respect, the players around you. Just because you might be the best, don’t act like it.

Let us hope nothing. We need him to be elite.

How to tear down a house.
How to throw picks in playoff games.
How to get injured every season.

Apparently you only read some of my posts, but not all of them.

I CLEARLY stated that Dak WAS PART OF THE PROBLEM with this team in the playoffs. I also CLEARLY STATED that I don't believe Dak is the quarterback to lead us to where we want to go.

We all know Dak IS NOT elite.

However, we also know, that Dak isn't THE ONLY reason this team hasn't advanced further into the playoffs and beyond.

So again.... please show me how I gave Dak a pass because of weaknesses on our team? I clearly stated that Dak is PART of the problem.

Dak is a great leader he's a guy in those terms you'd love to lead your team. What other good things can Dak pass on to a young Joe Milton to help in making his career successful? Please give your thoughts
Surly you jest
