What can we get for OSA

Now that we know OSA was being used to sweeten the Crosby trade. Do you think the Cowboys still try and try and trade away OSA somewhere? If you look at the combine meetings I found it eye opening that the Cowboys met with so many DT’s.

When the thought of him leaving comes to mind because he might not fit what CP wants to do, I think of the cap space instantly generated and how the Cowboys could get multiple players with his money. Then adding a decent draft pick seals the deal for me. To answer the OP, I'd jump at a 3 or a 4.

In a trade we can get $16 million in dead money but we would gain $4.8 million in cap space.

See above. Not sure what kind of multiple players you can get with $4.8 million. Only way you are getting a lot of cap money is to trade him after June 1st (since you can't designate a trade post June 1st).

Nothing. Maybe a 5th at best. He isn't that good and way overpaid. How much of his contract goes with him? If the boys are eating most of osas contract then he could get a 4th.

Osa was a good draft pick and but he got overpaid because Micah was beside him. Osa also benefited contract wise because the Cowboys had no defensive tackles. He basically is the defensive version of Steele at right tackle.

OSA and Clark grade out the same.

Dude is built like the Hulk.

Osa will play with the team this year. He will most likely be traded next off season saving around 12.5m on the cap. He should still be useful playing 3-tech when they align in nickel.

How exactly did he get overpaid?
Sportrac projected his contract at 4 yr 100m last offseason. NFL network did an interview with him after he signed with the focus being on he accepted a much smaller contract than what he would have gotten on the open market.
He put up the same stats 4 sacks and 52 pressures that he normally does.
He was helping Micah pad his stats, not the other way around!

Not much. His contract is too big

He helped Micah? :laugh:Without Micah, Osa helped the Cowboys to the worst defense the Cowboys have ever had.

First you'd have to actually believe that report!
You really think Dallas is going to announce they tried to trade someone who's still on the roster.
Sounds more like speculation and guessing.
They interviewed the same number of DTs they interviewed last season and the season prior!

He’s younger than Clark.
