Practicing with the Raiders allows the Cowboys to test themselves against another NFL team but what interests me the most is that Cowboys coaches get a good look at some potential Raider cuts that could be of benefit to the Cowboys. Raiders are deep at LB and relatively deep at DB. At LB I would love one of Maiva, Burris or Fields. Those 3 guys are better than some of our starters. And at DB, would look at Neiko Thorpe, Taiwan Jones and Keith McGill, maybe even Larry Asante. Jones is a much better KO returner than anyone we have, especially if Harris only handles PR. And McGill was projected to safety when he came out due to his size.
On another but related subject, guy we should bring in for a look is Brandon Hardin. Drafted by Bears in 3rd but has been plagued by injuries all 3 years he has been in league. Big corner when he came out (6-3 210) with legit sub 4.5 speed, Marinelli tried to convert to safety. Hardin would play corner in Seattle. Hardin released last week by Jets due to plantar fasciitis and crowded safety corps but states he is healthy now.
