What changed with the defense today?

I credit Garrett, but I think McVay got away from what worked the last time. idk. I think we all know something was off with Goff, but even if there wasnt, i still see Dallas winning this. Goff helped, but something about that team seemed way off. More of a win for Garrett, but foolish for McVay to play Goff when he has seen back ups light Dallas up.

The Rams is what happened. They played awful. Early on they were throwing bombs. Once they settled down they threw screens and torched us. They were flat like we’ve been 7 times this year. It was so obvious.

Did Goff seem to rush his passes when pressure got near? It seemed he would release hurridly without feet set or off balance. Early on his passes were off target when pressure got near.

No missed tackles and Goff. I believe it was as simple as the QB just being that bad. We'll find out going forward.

Cowboys didn't give the same defense look every time, they actually mix the scheme and played more man to man.

Plus - defense finally got some turnovers and gave the offense some extra possessions.

Our 12th man on defense (Zeke) helped extend drives, finish drives and put the defense on less than usual. Plus, we had a fountain of youth game from Lee. The offense and defense complimented each other well with clock management. Even backed up the offense kept the defense off of the field and fresh for when it did go back on. Being up 21 points didn’t hurt confidence much either on defense.

We did something different schematically. This made it easier for our defensive linemen to do their job( control their gap).

Seemed to me that we didn't play as many games up front, allowing the DL to maintain their gaps better. We mixed in more man coverage as well as was mentioned on the broadcast.
