What changes or additions to this team would make us Super Bowl contenders?

a fat guy in a little coat who moves like a dancer destroying the middle playing nose tackle
an *** kicker who wants the ball (or your head) more than you do playing safety
a flat out pure speed WR to stretch the field and test Dak's arm strength
a returner who can actually get you decent field position, with a chance to score every time he touches the ball
a TE who can actually run after the catch (sorry Jason) More Blakay please
a DE who is hungry for 20 sacks/yr, and has the health and motor to make it happen (do we have that guy, it doesn't seem like it)
and super fast LB's who can stay healthy long enough to blitz, cover and stuff the run

They already are.

I don't think people yet grasp how truly awful Jason Garrett was as a coach, especially last year. There has never been a coach who so actively submarined his team's chances to win ball games.
While this may be true let's say 2020 happens and certain players don't perform up to expectations. Do the players start getting the criticism then?

Sounds like a lot of all pros are needed lol

Sure. I mean there's plenty to criticize about the players as is. The WRs drop too many balls. The corners lack ball awareness. The LBers are all horrible against the run.

But the talent is as good as any team in the league. They were just so consistently put in a position to fail that every imperfection gets exploited every week. The flaws in the talent are the same or less than everyone.

I see all the talk about keeping or letting go of Dak, Cooper, Witten, Lee, Jones, Awuzie, Heath, etc. We will need others to fill in certain roles. Some of you even believe we can win with the current team, if we retain the same starters from 2019, but clearly that's not enough.

So my question is, "What needs to be changed or added to make us contenders?" and "how many seasons will it take to get there?"

-top 5 defense that takes the ball away
-At least two quality TE's that can block
-Luck
-Health
-MM and the new staff working out

Move Jaylon back to whatever position he played in 2018 and leave him there. He was the coming of a legit NFL elite LBer. No idea what's happened since.......
I'm a fan of JS, but he was clearly overrated in 2018. More of the same happened in 2019.

Ill take the great young QB that wants to play football over a guy that quits on his team 3 weeks before the season starts because he doesnt have the heart anymore.
I don't know if he doesn't have heart, but clearly he's made a lot of bad decisions. Injuring himself off the field on top of his existing football injury and calling it quits to leave the team hanging, definitely don't want him here. If you feel like you need to retire just make the call, don't sit on it then announce it months or years later right when the season is going to start.

First: looks like the atmosphere around big D is changing. Our new coach is addressing all aspects of coaching by hiring people to leave nothing undone. Dressing room. 2nd: We must strategize who we want to sign and who we want to let go. Get the signings done early. 3rd: Hit free agency with a plan on who you want to add to this roster. A big boy on the DL would be a wonderful addition. It would allow our LB’s to run freely through the line. I want to see upgrades to what we use to have, not just additions. Finally we have to hit on the draft. Select people with high football IQ and a passion for the game.

1) much better, competent coaching staff in place ( McCarthy)
2) Defense
3) revamped RBs
4) elite lead WR
5) top flight TE
6) Special teams

- Top flite defense in scoring- run defense- sacks- turnovers
- Revamp the Run game and use RBs in pass game
- Cooper must emerge as elite No.1 feature WR for Dak
- Find a top flite TE for Dak ( ala Kelce, Little, Ertz, Goebert)
- vastly improve special teams

A very dominant D-Line and more consistency from the receivers...

Easy answer....
One extremely tremendous Off Season.

1) Attitude, Discipline, Accountability, Responsibility, Teamwork
2) Better DL trench play
3) Better Safety play
4) Stop saying you are being professional just because you come to work. I come to work every day, and that doesn't make me the best at all. Have a little desire to "be the best" instead of "professional"
