What assistant coaches does Garrett take to St. Louis?

Let the debate begin.

It appears we have a little rebuilding to do with our coaching staff.

I'd say his brother goes with him for sure...maybe Houck...not sure anyone else would be going.

I don't think Houck is going anywhere. The style of offense Garrett ran goes directly against the style that Houck coaches. Houck has a track record of offensive lineman that push forward in the run game. Holland was added most likely to fit his style of play. Houck is also a friend of Jerry as well.

Houck has a track record and even he couldn't do crap with Garrett;s pass happy schemes. Martz got his QBs killed all the time, becuase it just puts too much pressure on the lineman.

Why would Houck want to work for a guy that throws all the time and refuses to run the ball consistently?

Garrett is the reason Houck ended up as OL coach here instead of Solari.

You mean Houck doesn't have ties to Jerry as well? Wade didn't work with Houck as well in San Diego? I guess Dave Campo also came back because of Garrett... While Garrett may have been an influence in bringing in Houck, it doesn't mean he was the sole reason. Maybe Wade agreed because he also knew Houck was a good hire, and two other guys, Jerry and jason wanted him.

And BTW, Houck never coached for Garrett... Garrett was the QB coach in Miami. What makes you think Houck came here, because the guy who coached Culpepper and Harrington wanted him in Dallas? Maybe Houck came because he was fired in Miami and Jerry called him and he saw a good situation there, with a huge offensive line that could run the ball.

It was the experience with Dallas that Houck learned what type of system Garrett runs... After coaching under Garrett, I'm sure he probably changed his mind. The fact is Houck has a track-record of greatness that was marred by Jason Garrett's schemes.

I would think John Garrett is gone, who by the way did an outstanding job making Jason Witten a more well-rounded TE . Houck and Wade Wilson are possibilities. So much for "continuity".

Jerry isnt the coach. They hired Houck because of his ties to Norv Turner/Ernie Zampese/Garrett.

It was widely reportedly Wade wanted to hire Solari.

Houck was also the OL coach in Miami when Garrett was the QB coach there. Houck was hand-picked to come in as OL coach in Dallas because of his close relationship with Garrett.

Oh, so Jerry doesn't have any influence in who he hires. Then how does that explain Garrett being hired before Wade?

I know that and mentioned it. What does that prove? Wade worked with him in san Diego and Houck also worked with Jerry. How do you know Garrett had a close relationship with Houck, when Garrett was the QB coach? Maybe Garrett wanted him because he was damn good offensive line coach. houck has ties to Dallas and Jerry Jones. You know, maybe the fact that Dallas had a huge line and Houck liked Jerry is the reason he came to Dallas.

Houck also coached in san Diego with a similar style offense that Wade worked with in San Diego as the DC. Wade likes to run the ball. Maybe Wade wanted Solari as his first choice, but that doesn't mean he didn't like Houck either. Houck likes to have his OL move forward.

How would Houck have any idea of the schemes of Garrett, before coming, when JG was simply the QB coach of the Dolphins. He really would have had no idea of him as an overall coordinator unless he worked with him, and that only happened in Dallas, where his OL was the butt of major criticism, despite the fact Garrett wasn't doing anything to take pressure off his big OL from standing up all game, instead of moving forward.
