What did Madden use to say when the Cowboys had a lead in the 2nd half?

32. That's the number of rushing attempts per game the Cowboys have. That leads the league in case you were wondering. Try again.
OK if you insist.
Vs Minny he had 28 carries
Vs Giants he had 24
As the season has gone on lenihan is moving further and further from the Run as his MO will bear out
Stay down and play with the little kids would ya.

Watching us abandon the run game in the 2nd half last week I had sick feelings from 2013 and the latter years

49.88%. Total percentage of plays that are runs. Over the last 3 its 49.11%.

Vs. Minnesota 18 pass attempts to 28 rushing attempts. Even if you want to count Prescotts runs from original passing plays its 24 to 22.

The only game you can complain about is the Giants game at 38.46, which is still better than 12 other teams rushing percent on the season. They also rushed 10 times for only 22 yards in the 2nd half and the percentage was thrown out of whack even further when the last 7 plays were passes. Before those must throw situations it was 30 pass attempts to 24 rush attempts even with a non existent rushing threat.

Complain all you like, it still doesn't change the fact that you don't know what you're talking about.

In cold weather football, you run the ball more than 24 times, they don't necessarily need to run all the running plays with Zeke, give Morris more than 1 or 2 running plays, why is Dunbar even on the field? It was a close game, that last series was a joke, why was Elliot on the sidelines, he is a better receiver than Williams, in that game the way Dez performed it would have been tempting to sit him and run Elliot out in his spot. But to leave Elliot on the bench in critical situations when he's such an effective pass catcher makes no sense.

Yes, yes, yes.

They're aren't many teams who would embark on a potential game winning drive with arguably the leagues best offensive player on the sideline.

I hate to wish injury on anyone, but can Dunbar please sprain his ankle going to the bathroom tonight so the coaches don't have the option?

I totally agree, I've gone back and watched youtube videos of where Cowboy teams of the past had Barber, Jones, and Smith on the field in crucial late game drives...just ridiculous how these coaches misuse the weapons they have.

Check out this play-by-play to begin the first four possessions from the start of third quarter, all with the lead on the road and the league's leading rusher in the backfield during a key divisional game between two likely playoff teams in December --

=======================================

First-and-10, run for 6
Second-and-4, pass for first down
First and 10, incomplete pass
Second-and-10, run for 1
Third-and-9, pass for 8
Fourth down

-------

First-and-10, run for -1
Second-and-11, pass for first down
First-and-10, (pass play) QB scrambles for 1
Second-and-9, pass for 3
Third-and-6, pass for no gain
Fourth down

--------

First-and-10, run for 2
Second-and-8, incomplete pass
Third-and-8, pass complete for first down, but the WR fumbles for a turnover

--------

First-and-10, run for 3
Second-and-10, (pass play), QB sacked and fumbles for a turnover

==============================

Talk about atrocious play calling, right?

I say just run on 1st and 2nd majority of the time, especially in freezing cold conditions, wet field and you have Zeke who wants the ball in these conditions.

The game wasn't passing conditions and we passed to much. It was freezing out their.

Dak's success on third and long is predicated on first down yardage. It's clear the Giants were stopping the run in the second on first down.

So when Dak was facing third and 'long' he struggled.

Additionally, it's not just about passing. I believe as Cowboys Nation reported in this game a couple of those third downs where Dak struggled were when Dak didn't have the play-action pass because Linehan had him in an empty backfield.

Dak's major success passing is when defenses are respecting the threat of the run, meaning Zeke.

Look how awful We were in third down when Dunbar was in..

Zeke is the MVP of this offense..

Madden use to say it's time for a heavy dose of Emmitt.

We did not use Zeke right against the Giants.

Our 1st series from our 18 Zeke ran on first for 3 yards, then 2 straight passes- 3 and out
2nd series Zeke ran the ball 5 times, we scored on TD pass Dak to Williams 7-0
3rd series, Zeke gets back to back 4 yard carries on 1st and 2nd, then on 3rd and 2 we pass- interception------------ 7-0
4th series, Zeke 15 yards, 4 yards on first 2 plays. 2nd and 6 we pass, Dak get sack, then incompletion & punt ---- 7-0
5th series, Zeke gets 2 on 1st, then another 13 on 2nd, lose 1 on 1st then 2 straight passes- punt ----------7-0
6th series, Zeke for 14 and 4, 2 minute warning, 2nd and 6 we pass 2 straight times then punt ----------7-0
7th series, all passes, 32 seconds when series started- miss fg- halftime ------------7-0
First half we ran the ball well but continued to pass when the run was effective. ----------7-0 halftime

2nd half
1st series, Zeke for 3 yards, 2nd and 7 we pass 2 times, both incomplete- punt------------ 7-0
2nd series, Pass, pass, pass punt on 4th and 1---- 7-0
3rd series, Zeke runs for no gain, then 13 yards. 1st and 10 pass for 1st down, Zeke for 2, incompletion, sack & punt------7-3
4th series, Zeke for 4, 2nd and 6, 2 more incompletions, punt ---------- 7-10
5th series, Zeke for 4, we pass for 1st, Zeke -1 on carry, incompletion, Zeke loses 6 yards on 3rd and 11, we punt-------- 7-10
6th series, Zeke for 2, 2 more incompletions and another punt-------------- 7-10
7th series, all passes, no choice, down by 3 with 2+ minutes left, Dez fumble----- 7-10
8th series, all passes, no choice, a little over 1 minute left- game over we lose 7-10

A little beakdown

We had 2nd and 6 five times and we passed the ball each time. Dak had only 1 completion on 2nd and 6. Not one single run on 2 and 6

We had 2nd and 7 twice and passed both times on 2nd and 3rd.

Zeke only had 3 consecutive carries once.

We had 2nd down 20 times and we only ran the ball 7 times on 2nd down, most of the time it was 2nd and 6 or 7 and we passed.

Give the ball to Zeke.

Linehan is a proven idiot. We need ROMO making the calls from the sidelines or just simplify it and put 9 under center.

The Giants were not stopping the run, Zeke was getting 4 yards a pop, hence all the 2nd and 6's we had. On 2nd and 6 we should have ran the ball again since obviously the Giants were looking for the pass every 2nd and 3rd down.

By 'second' I was referring to
Second half. In the fourth quarter, When they started putting in Dunbar In third downs, our passing couldn't get first downs even on play-action for Dak.
Dallas efficiency for Zak is in the heavy use of play-action and defenses are clearly respecting the run.

Dak's impact is not as great as Zeke.

As far as the first half, as I pointed out those were not really so much a Dak issue as the fact that Linehan had him with an empty backfield. This is what I was referring to when mentioning Cowboy's Nation. A couple of the third downs off the top of my head were in that situation.. so your correct in a sense it was Zeke, but it shows how dependent Dak is on the 'threat of Zeke'.

The real issue is when Dak has to win on arm and traditional 3-5 and 7 step drops.. the verdict is still out...

Followed by circling the butt sweat.
I remember Kennard sweating so much that Troy's hands would be too wet to throw the ball.............true story that was told to me by a Cowboys assistant coach on defense at that time......

So you thought the Run wasn't needed in the second half of the Giants game because obviously our OC didn't
