Memo,

Steve Smith grabbed TWO OFFICIALS he got the referee too, that was a good call.

The ball DID NOT TOUCH PEPPERS, IT DID NOT CHANGE TRAJECTORY.

Totally agree, BZ...

Smith EARNED that ejection by being an idiot and clearly breaking a rule.

But what really got me was that they never mentioned that Smith only had 1 catch for 18 yards up to that point. It's not like he was killing us and then the evil refs removed him so we could win.

I'm not usually one who bashes the media for being against us, but all those guys gave us remarkably little credit for WINNING that game and beating a very good team on the road.

Smith can thank the Ravens and Rhonde Barber for that call. The league went around to each team and told each coaching staff specifically to not argue with the refs or touch them after that infamous week. He's really got nobody to blame but himself.

As far as the kick (besides Cundiff sucks), I don't know how anybody could positively tell that it hit Peppers or not.

I'm sure the excuse will be that the ball started to spin after it went by Peppers, but anybody who has ever played golf will tell you that most golf shots don't generate a lot of spin immediately after being struck. They have to get up in the air and then they start to spin.

Rich.........

Unfortunately, just when that scuffle happened, I went downstairs for a soda and missed it.

He also dropped some F bombs..however I don't know if they were actually directed at the ref who threw the flag.

He bumped a ref, grabbed him, and then cursed at him. The flag wasn't thrown till he was done talking.

I would like to know what he said, but never put your hands on the Ref. Every player knows that.

Understand NFL sent word to rep after the MNF game (when 2 players ejected from that game for touching/cursing ref) making sure all understood that no player would be allowed to touch or curse (?) at a ref. Smith should have known better but he does now.

In my rec hockey league a guy actually grabbed a ref by the collar and threatened him a couple of seasons back. Needless to say, not only was he ejected, he was suspended for the rest of the season, which had just started.
