What Do We Do From Here?

Seems to me that with Bowen gone, the bare minimum we can do is sign two vet DEs and one safety. Preferably we would sign two vet DEs, two safeties and a Guard. I've guessed (probably poorly) at what some of the remaining FAs at these positions might go for. If you had $20mm to spend, how would you allocate it?

If I had to guess what we do given what's gone down so far:

- Abe Elam (holding nose)
- Don't sign a G, hope for Bright/Arkin/Young/Costa

Hmm. I don't like the idea of bringing Hatcher back. I think he underachieved to the point that it might be time to let him walk. The only way I bring him back is if I just need a body.

I would rather do Spears and Coleman or Coleman and Jenkins or at absolute best, Spears and Jenkins.

Spears is a possibility, I would definitely like to see Poole in but I think it's unlikely. They've got to sign at least one DE and one S and probably ought to bring in a G as well, even if they aren't big names.

Swap Spears for Hatcher and this seems like a good plan to me.

Just for fun, with your numbers, I think this could be likely:

Then whoever is left over and cheap for another safety.

Personally, I don't think Spears or Sensabaugh come back.
