If Lee goes out early for any time though, we have very little LB experience on the field at MIKE and WILL between Jaylon and LVE.
I think LVE has a ton of upside but I don’t expect to see him be an immediate star. Playing LB in the NFL is infinitely more difficult than in college. That’s no knock on Vander Esch or Boise State. It’s just a reality that transitioning to the NFL at aged 21 at a position that depends a ton on reads and positioning is difficult at first for any athlete.
My belief is LVE is going show many flashes of his talent, but it may be October or November before he starts looking comfortable, maybe even 2019.
I do hope most fans around here don’t start calling him a bust or “another Bobby Carpenter” after 3 games. Because it’s going to take some seasoning to see LVEs potential realized.
reasonableBest I'm hoping for is a solid contribution by last eight games.......
that depends, can i tell you where they pencil him in after his first camp?I don't even think they have figured out what VanderCarpenter is going to do let alone teach him to do his thing so he can be ROY.
The uncertainty of Jaylon Smith adds to the situation.
By this point, and given our roster, I would have thought there would be a spot for him.
Your first round pick should be penciled in as a starter.
Can anyone of you state, based on evidence so far, where he might be penciled in?

Mike. Put it in pen.Your first round pick should be penciled in as a starter.
So, our first practice, he comes out there at MIKE?Mike. Put it in pen.
