With us not taking anyone before 3pm today - what can we expect for for Comp picks next year?

I assume a few decent picks.

  • So a 3, 4, 5 and 6

... 3,4,5. Everybody in the car, so come on, let's ride...

KD Drummond did elaborate on his article that if Quinn plays 75% of possible snaps for the Bears it would elevate it to a 3rd. He said it is not likely.

How is that not likely? He played a lot for us and if you look at the Bears depth chart, all he has behind him is Barkevious Mingo and a bunch of udfa's.

This was his explanation
Quinn has only been checking in at around 60% of team snaps over the last couple of seasons. Snap percentage is the primary multiplier to the average value of a contract in determining where the comp pick places. The other is post-season awards.

So we need to root for someone in Chicago to get hurt and have Quinn playing 75% of snaps OR we need him to become an All-Pro in Chicago.

I think 75% is just a very high number for a DE that isn't known as a run stopper. He will likely be rotated for in some running situations.

I also think 75% is too low a number for Quinn to reach to become a 3rd round comp pick. I think he needs to be closer to 90%. His salary alone puts him right at the 3/4 cutoff, so he'll easily be surpassed once the awards and participation points are added.

He played 60% of snaps last season (missed 2 games) and about 67% of snaps in games he was active. That was the first time he's hit 60% since 2014. I think even 75% is a reach, never mind my projection of closer to 90%.

Remember to that part of the formula for valuing picks is post-season awards and % of plays. Its possible Quinn can play only 60% of defensive snaps and get voted All-Pro and his value could be elevated to a 3rd round pick. Is this likely? No, but its possible. I guess we have to root for Quinn to sack everybody but Dak.
