...after 3 seasons, my suspicions have been confirmed--bill parcells simply doesn't fit in. he doesn't BELONG here in dallas coaching the team. i think even he is realizing this fact.
if he wants to continue coaching, he really needs to consider taking one of the upcoming east coast jobs--the jets, detroit (east enough), etc. he'll be closer to his family. and quite honestly, at 64 years of age, he MUST be evaluating what matters in life. how could he not?
people are speculating he's pondering life after the death of his brother. i think he's pondering being away from the family he has left--his daughters and grandchildren. again, how could he not?
at 64, he must be asking himself, "...what in the h#ll am i doing out here in texas, all alone. totally isolated from all friends and family. yes, the players mean alot to him...but only a naive person takes this "family" talk as it relates to athletes too seriously--NO TEAMMATE or player takes the place of a real loved one. i don't buy that for a second.
the anecdotal evidence that parcell's is leaving is overwhelming--he behaves as if he is TOTALLY MISERABLE. win or lose. this guy is just NOT a happy human being. i realize this is also his nature, but not to this degree. this guy has ALL the signs of a person who WANTS TO BE SOMEWHERE ELSE. he should be accomodated. not in a mean or cruel way. but in a respectful way.
i have never been excited about his hiring--any joy i expressed was in the fact we were at least getting a REAL coach. but his positive impact in undeniable...the luster to the hc job in dallas is totally restored. we can now get any coach we want. jerry is in his proper place. he brought in drew henson--despite never playing him. he upgraded the young talent overall. having said all that, he still didn't get the job done...fob's failed him. but he will leave this team in better condition than he found it--not many can say this.
and finally, i don't think parcell's wants to make the TOUGH decisions coming up with meshawn "i'm a johnson" and drew bledsoe. both of these guys--especially meshawn--are ready for supporting actor roles. neither can carry a team anymore.
i fully expect parcells to quit after this season--playoffs or not. he's miserable. he should be. he doesn't belong here. he belongs back HOME--close to his loved ones. anyone who thinks they care about parcells the person should want the same for him.
