What does a healthy Sean Lee change?

At this point Sean Lee is like Bob Sanders from the Colts, Great player but just can't stay healthy. I would just consider Sean Lee as a luxury if he can stay healthy but I wouldn't count on him every week.

On the weak side he could do it

Guy gets hurt in practice .....

He is an incredible player ....... but I will not believe he can stay healthy until he does ....... and I damn sure hope the Cowboys do not put him as the focal point of their plans.

In a perfect world I'd like to see Hitch and Lee in the middle with RO and Lee on the outside...

But Lee being healthy is a pipe dream...

Lee would have been our best LB this season, by a considerable margin. He'd have made the unit better, for sure. We still need edge pressure, though.

I forgot about the neck injury Lee had before he tore his ACL this season. I wonder how his neck will hold up the first time he tackles someone.

His neck could end up fine. He would likely injure something else if that were the case.

Looking at how gassed Carter was on Sunday and RoMac other games, we need a LB rotation as much as anything. Remember Marinellis scheme calls for at least the 3 tech to simply get up field, if there is no 1 tech that absolutely commands a continuous double, the center will give a side push of the 1 tech which hands him off to the G and get into the second level on the MLB.......Many other 4-3 schemes call for the DL to soak up and keep the LB'rs free to run to the ball.
.that wears those guys out, calls for a rotation having to take on a OL on too many run plays. Tough to fit in under cap though.

Yep. The bad thing is we have serious health concerns throughout the entire LBer corps. The good thing is we have enough talented LBers that we should at least be able to trot out a solid unit every week. The question is are we going to be able to bring everyone back?

This year we had Lee, McClain, Carter, Durant and Hitchens on the roster (I'm only including the solid starting-caliber players). That's five guys who could start on any team in the league. And despite the insane amount of injuries, we had at least two of those guys ready to go every week. Since we play in the nickel about 60% of the time and only need two LBers in the nickel, we can live with that.

But if we lose two of these guys, then we need every one of them to be healthy every game in order to have a good starting lineup. We can't afford any injuries. I really hope we can bring all five guys back next year (but I don't see that happening). Hopefully at least four of them. I'd be okay with losing Durant. Although he's been more consistent than Carter, I think Carter has the ability to be a real play maker when he's on his game.

What if Demarco drank 30 gallons of bean juice instead of water before the game? Would he have broken Dickerson's record? Would there be an asterisk next to his name because of the jet propulsion?

You can't go thru a season with 3 LBers as year long starters. You need at least 6 and at times that's not enough. You have Lee, Durant, and Ro as starting caliber NFL LBers. Hitchens is going to be starting quality if not already. I think Carter is starting quality if left in the right position. For me I've got Ro at Sam, Lee at Will and Carter at Mike which appears to be his best position. Lee and Carter can play Mike or Will and Carter Sam as well. Ro can play Sam and Mike. Durant can play Will and Mike although Will is his position. I think Hitchens is a Will who can play Mike and Sam in a pinch. You'll have either Watson or Smith IMO as a backup with Wilbur providing competition. Durant may beat out a starter. There will almost always be injuries either IR or a few games or so. They could draft someone or even bring in a FA although I'm thinking draft at best and possibly go with what we have should they all be signed.

I forgot Lee was even on the team about half-way through. Maybe that is a good thing if he can come back and play a full season. I am not holding my breath. but if I were, it is almost 3 minutes in case yas want to know :D

Sean Lee healthy and on the field for an entire season?

Didn't know such a thing existed. Considering that he hasn't played a complete season since his junior season at Penn State.

Law of averages says a full season is just around the corner. ;)

Boy do we need him as well.

When he's healthy he's one of the best backers in football... we're definitely a better team when he's on the field. Not sure if he makes us a 13-3 or better team as opposed to the 12-4 record we had, but I would've felt a lot more comfortable with him in the middle for the Packer game. Possibly could've been the difference. Well it shouldn't have matter anyways because Dez caught the ball-... alright I'm not gonna go there but yes, we're a better team with Sean Lee.

Its hard to know because he's never been healthy. But you can assume that it adds a playmaker to a defense desperately in need of one. Too bad its not on the defensive line. But it will definitely help.

Sean Lee healthy? Yeah right. Good player but can not stay on the field... just who he is and will continue to be.

Imagine we had Sean Lee at 100% for the entirety of the season, he was flying around out there like his college days.

What about the 2014 season would change?

Not a lot. Our downfall is lack of pass rush and poor S and CB play.

I'd love to see Lee at WLB and Ro in the middle. Playing the weakside might also help keep Lee healthy.

I see a whole lot of potential from the line-backing crew - and mix-and-match possibilties, too. But it won't mean a whole lot until Dallas can obtain the personnel necessary to generate a consistent pass rush from the front four. That's where they need to invest this off-season. Big time.
