At this point it looks less and less likely the Cowboys trade for Brooks. Hypothetically though what do you think he’d cost long term, and what would that look like on our cap table

He might become available for 2027. At least if the Cowboys were to try and sign another "expensive" deal like Thompsons.

I’d have to think he’d be looking for in excess of $11 million a year.

Im guessing it will be black and white on standard legal size paper with a bunch of legal jargon most of us wouldn't understand.

They already traded for Brooks. He is the dude with the name “Winters” on his jersey. Look out for him.

i can't see him being less than Devin Lloyd.

Lloyd signed a 3yr-45mil contract.

DL was a 2nd team All-Pro LB. Brooks was 1st team.

Brooks is 2 years older, but with the ever rising cap, the scale is always resetting. IF Brooks has another AP year then 20mil AAV could be possible.

The more I think about it...

Roquan Smith signed for $20m AAV in 2023, with a $225m cap (9%). In 2027, at a $320m cap, 9% is going to be almost $29m.

If Brooks is an All Pro again this year, the number is probably close to $25m.
