I'm curious about what folks here think about the rivalry with the Commanders? Is it a big deal? not a big deal? Why?

Growing up I hadd a POS step dad that treated me and my brothers really bad that's another story, anyway he was a big Commanders fan and everytime the Skins won(which was not very often in the mid to late nintys) he'd rub it in our faces. He's no longer in my life but everytime we smash them I get joy knowing somewhere he's crying like a little *****.

It means Thanksgiving Clint Longley to Drew Pearson for the win.

It's huge for me, mostly because I live in Redsk*n territory.

So much more fun to drive around with my Cowboys stuff on the car after a big win!

It's always a big deal. When I was a kid, the Commanders were the team I hated the most. In recent years, they've been replaced by the Eagles. I think that had to do with the fact that the Commanders have just sucked in recent years. lol I still get great joy in beating them though.

I'm an old cowboy fan.It is a big deal to me. I remember the old days-it was always called Commander week leading up to the game between these two. Some of my most heartbreaking-bitter cowboy losses were to the skins. However when we beat them it was so sweet!

The games were so intense back in the day.I miss those days.

It's a huge deal for me. There is no team I despise more than the Skins. Probably a result of living in DC for 22 years and having to listen to ignorant skins fans who spew nonsense. Of course being a fan during the Allen/Landry years pretty much cemented it for me. Then there was the NC championship loss to them. I remember I cried like a baby after that loss. With that said, I really really hate the skins.

Living in VA, it means I don't have to hear from any of their fans when Dallas hangs a L on them.

I hate the Commanders and it is a very big deal but the Giants and Eagles are bigger rivals to me personally.

Its good to hear that most of you take the rivalry seriously. I've heard some folks say that the cowboys dont really consider the Commanders as rivals any more simply because the Commanders havent been that good in recent years. IMO this is bandwagonish. As far as I'm concerned, the history of our franchises demand that the Cowboys and Commanders remain bitter rivals. Plus it makes things fun.

I also live in Skins country, so it is a nice break from the delusional smack they talk leading up to the game. If Dallas wins this week, I'll get the bonus of Skins fans and Hokie fans not talking about winning it all.

I'm in Richmond as well... I can't stand Tech either!

It means the world to me. I think I hate them the most, followed by philly and then NY(in that order)

Skins have racists roots.

Not only that but I grew up playing against a team in our county who was our rival, and they were the Commanders, and had the uniform completely matched up. If that weren't bad enough, they were known for running up points against inferior teams (we usually beat them but they ran up the score on all of the our other teams)So that made everyone hate them even more.I always looked forward to playing them more then anyone else because of that, which is why us beating them 2 times my last year of rec football as a 12 year old (regular season and playoffs) by a combined 120 points ranks up with my all time favorite football moments. ( Our coach decided to give their HC a taste of his own medicine.)
