What ever happened to Romo being accurate?

It's not like he is a big guy for sure. He's not god awful, but he is missing throws he used to always make.

he's like 6'2" and 230 or 235 and benched like 250 30 times or something ridiculous. he's a pretty stinkin strong qb.

He could definitely throw the deep ball. The good old days...

This was the last time we had a truly competitive team.

would have been a valid excuse a year ago

i have yet to see him actually sit and make a throw to this day.

now, you might can blame his shifty qb play and looking to move around or w/e, but its rare he actually sets and throws

he's had decent protection for most of the season, its not bad blocking that is making him rush his throws this year

i didnt mean to imply it was "bad" blocking. i think defenses know how to collapse the pocket to where tony doesnt like it.

and, to be fair, if youve spent your whole career running around with no blocking, you're going to still do that even if all the sudden you have decent blocking. its not like now he's gonna magically change and stand still to throw. he's used to running at this point.

No, he didn't bench 250 30 times.... get out of here with that nonsense. He didn't even participate at the combine. I can assure you he never came close to 250x 30 times. haha

hence "or something ridiculous"

looking it up, he did 24 reps at 225 and maxed at 385.

Problem is, his passes up the seams were phenomenal. He under threw a couple, but in one case, I think Dez still should have caught it. The play where Aikman mentioned the catch-up speed of the Green Bay corner, the ball still hit Dez in the helmet. Then there was that seam route on the play the refs clearly went bone-headed, where the safety grabbed Witten's arm.

The thing is, you have to have an identity as an offense. We come out aggressive twice this whole year and you don't develop a nice rhythm with your team-mates in actual game play.

He put way too much mustard on the pass to Dez in the end zone on their right side, where Dez had to lay out.

He's been very up and down this season.. NO biggie...

Dallas can just use the running game and..........

Wait, nevermind...

Doesn't matter too much, cause throwing the ball is all technique and full body motion. The bench is a straight push. His bad throws are either bad timing, I think more of this cause we don't have an identity, or sloppy, like the one where he audibles into pass. But that was partially cause Matthews went unblocked.

His problem is, he tries to make a play when he shouldn't. He should many times be scrambling a lot more for yardage than freewheeling.

On that play Romo could have literally run for the first down, he didn't even have to throw it. That is the no thinking part I have issues with. You can't play like that late in a game, the first priority there it to protect the football.

Completely unofficial too isn't it? With that said, Romo is a tough player, I will agree with that. He just isn't a very smart player.

It was unofficial, sure.

I dont think tony is dumb...I think he plays with a lot of dumb (see my thread just now on beasley stopping on his route)

His mechanics are terrible this year. He bails on most of his throws because he's feeling pressure that isn't there. He has this tendency to fall away from the ball, almost turning his back upon release. He is not stepping into his passes, thus he is losing velocity. He has done it repeatedly all year long.

Yeah, that one was more than likely Beasleys fault, I can agree with that. Doesn't change the fact that Romo audibled out of a running play and threw an interception earlier in the game, or him underthrowing and over throwing Dez several times throughout the game. The thing is, the whole team is bad, INCLUDING Romo. The sooner you realize that, the better shape you will be in as a fan. It's almost all Jerry's fault too.

Good eye!

bingo!

which is what I was saying...line blocking or not, tony is playing like they are not.
