I prefer to build through the draft. LOLB that can rush the passer would be an area that I wouldn't mind going through FA to get if we can find a good one that's under 30 years old. But Adalius Thomas is 31 and wanting big $$$ so I'll pass.

Here's guys I'm interested in:

Gaines Adams (probably will be picked way before we get to him)

Quentin Moses

Anthony Spencer (may be too small)

Lawrence Jackson

If Lawrence Timmons declares for the NFL draft, we should DEFINATLY look at him, and give him serious thought.

he is a junior, and might fall in the 2nd round, scouts feel he needs a little more polishing.

Im a FSU fan and i can tell you he is pretty much a bigger Ernie Sims.

Lawrence Timmons (LT) has freakish athletic ability, very good speed, very good quickness, is a BIG TIME hitter, and is a great Cover linebacker. Just as good as Ernie Sims was in college at FSU.

If he declares, id be so dang happy if we got him, he is a special player.

he is what Parcells likes to call a catalitic type of player. he just makes plays

Like one poster pointed out, how about Shaun Phillips? I know that he's been doing better because Merriman draws double teams, but wouldn't Ware also draw double teams, allowing him to play well? Phillips is also a very young player.

According to some mocks I've looked at, apparently g. adams and q. moses will both be gone by the time we draft.

Which rds would jackson or spencer come in?

Defense
I don't want to see a rookie learn on the job a FS so Ken Hamlin, Deon Grant or Terence Holt would all peak my interest for whatever they want financially.
Too bad we signed James I would have loved to have Kawika Mitchell at our ILB.
Reggie Torbor shouldn't be too expensive and is a better option with his youth than Singleton who is a UFA or breaking the bank for Adalius Thomas.

Rivera holds us back so much.
Its going to hard to get an elite guard like Steinbach if we eat Rivera's contract and sign Gurode and Columbo. I would look more at David Diehl or Derrick Dockery than Steinbach.

The Free agent WRs are putrid so I hope we could get Robert Meachem and Sydney Rice in the middle of round 1

Backup QB might be and issue as well there is no one in Free agency.

Thomas will never see the FA market. Ray Lewis is getting old and injury prone so no way they let Thomas go.

I strongly doubt Jerry would break the bank over any defensive player.
He has spent a pretty penny and high draft picks on a defense that made Michael Vick look like Joe Montana and has gotten torched big time, time after time.
Whatever the DC is doing is failing miserably. The HC knows it and admits it in his post game fruitless banter.
Yes Bill,it is on YOU.All of it.
The blitz packages are the biggest joke since Bruce Coslet's zone blocking.
The defense has been simply unacceptable.
Jerry, ask Bill for your money back.
His groceries are stale.

Offhand we need a nasty Guard, a vicious pass rusher of some kind, and a FS that does not have the aroma of toast would be good as well.
Let me go to create-a-player, make those players, set them to 99..Oh wait this isn't madden! :lmao:
