We always talk about the guys we want, what about the guys that we SHOULDN'T look to sign??? The easy answer (yes because I always do the thinking for you guys in here ) not someone that's going to break the bank. But maybe it's a player(s) that just don't fit this scheme for whatever reason, please give your thoughts!

Coog is up and at it already. Do you ever sleep?
If you do our thinking for us, then why do we need to give you your thoughts? :muttley:

Jerry stays away from tier 1 players. So rule all of them out.
They say they are looking at tier 2 players which we know is not true. Tier Dumpster is what we will get.

All these recent years of us not using FA as a tool to help this team has caused our minds to be so negative I get that! Really this is one of the times in recent years where we actually saw them create space, and they created the space BEFORE the start of FA to be ready, and not do it in pieces, do one small restructure now, do another one a month into FA! Get this money, use it, be active!!! Let's stay away from Bosa and other players that are coming off of sub par year looking to still get paid because of what they think they should get!

Yes stay away from those type of players. However, if they are still available later on, dumpster diving time. They may sign for less money.

If the holes are still void (though we have none according to our senile FO) after the draft. Then bring them in if available.
However, that in itself, do we trust them in the draft. Too many chances, and too many reaches. For us to believe they got value as they always claim.

Only we are still waiting to see any of these players to be an impactful difference maker. All these trades of a future 5th round to trade up in the 6th round. Where are these players?
Beebe has shown potential, but is he there yet. Armstrong shown something, but he is gone. They refused to resign him, but yet give Osa a big contract.

I still do not trust them until we see it happen, and see results on the field.
I may change my attitude some after FA and the draft and during TC. But right now, the clearing of the cap space does not inspire confidence they will actually use it wisely.

Jerry wont double down on positions/areas he thinks he's already spent money/resources on. So in his eyes Dak, CeeDee and Mingo is 'sufficient' spend on the passing game. He may look at a Guard, especially if someone in his ear can say 'we need to run the ball, to held Dak'. Considered Dalman and moving BeeBe to Guard, but Dalman's size may get exposed vrs Carter and Davis.
I fear that now he's 'spent' on retaining Osa, he see's that money and Mazi as being the solution.
Edge, he wont spend, what with a 2nd Rd pick in Kneeland and Sam coming back.
Similarly CB, he'll re-sign J-Lew, but that's it.....he's going to be paying Diggs and Bland big more (regardless that Bland's still not 100% and Diggs recovery date is uncertain).

OLB - no, ILB - yes (Jerry likes paying for a vet) and Nick Bolton is a no brainer (even for Jerry).

This post is funny yet spot on!!! I mean why be even better, let's just settle because we put resources to those areas, well damn jerry just because you did that doesn't mean it's good resources that we have!!

Good question.

I would stave away from guys in their 30s no matter what their previous accomplishments, unless its a backup QB on a 1 year deal.

I would probably not pay Chase Young a lot of money. I think he has proven he will never be the guy he was expected to be coming out of college.

Yes!!! Looking at these 32 year old vets/lockette etc etc and other players, no let those guys go!!! Get bolton someone you can have that can help this defense and be here for several years he's young! There's some CB's that's out there that are a decent age too

Unfortunately, it's not funny at all.....Jerry strategy is to "pay just enough to be relevant". Im sure he justified 2024 as....ive just added over $90m per (on Dak and CeeDee), im not spending any more on the Offense, and certainly not a running game.....ive paid for us to be a passing team.

Just the blatent way Jerry believes.....he's so transparent in EVERYTHING he does.

I hear you but anyone that can be foolish and say "I'm suprised we weren't hear in the superbowl!" lol like come on

Reading the posts around here the last few weeks, you’d think Will Hernandez has suddenly morphed into Gene Upshaw.

They actually have some young depth at G. Spend that money elsewhere…or keep it for yacht fuel, or roll it to the following year, etc. Clearly they know what they are doing. No need to sweat.

For me stay away from RBs other than Rico assuming we draft one of the "studs" in this draft for him to complement.

Bosa played 28 games in the last 3 seasons. Let someone else pick him up.

This FA stuff isn't just recent years. I'm pretty sure they started this back in 2013. I don't expect them to change. That's a pity. I know we're not one player away. The Eagles weren't one player away after the 2023 season either. It wasn't just Barkley.

The Cowboys do make trades on occasion. But since they use the draft to improve the team, they can't give away top picks on trades.
