1. OG Eric Steinbach - Cincinnati Bengals
2. OG Kris Dielman - San Diego Chargers or OG Vince Manuwai - Jacksonville Jaguars
3. LOT Tony Pashos - Baltimore Ravens
4. ROT Jordan Black - Kansas City Chiefs or ROT Leonard Davis - Arizona Cardinals
5. QB Tim Rattay - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
6. DT Terdell Sands - Oakland Raiders
7. LB Adalius Thomas - Baltimore Ravens

Getting rid of the 10 players I want to get rid of should give us about 6-7 million extra in cap space....making it about 28 million we would have to spend

imagine a starting line of Pashos, Dielman/Manuwai, C, Steinbach, Black/Davis
backups being G Kosier, G Procter, T Colombo, T McQuistan, C Gurode

out starting center would be our first round draft pick Kyle Young....our OL would definitely be upgraded and all those guys would have 4 years of NFL experience, so they would be young.....

Tim Rattay is a quality and inexpensive backup for Tony Romo...he becomes expendible in TB with Simms and Gradkowski both there.

Fergie can't do it alone in the middle...he needs relief....enter the young and extremely large Terdell Sands....and if we go back to the 4-3, he and Fergie would make a nice starting combo....tough to run up the middle on us.

Adalius Thomas might be expensive...but he is coming into his own as a very good LB. Quite frankly he is merely icing on the cake. I want all the others first. Shore up the Oline, backup QB, and NT position....then we can worry about getting other positions. If we don't get Adalius Thomas...no worries...we can get someone in the draft.....

However, assuming they are the real deal, they'd likely command too many bucks that Jones needs to funnel back to defense. To go after the defensive guys you mentioned.

I look for tinkering with the existing OL with maybe a FA added into the mix. Parcells still believes in the present group with the exception of Kosier and maybe Adams.

That would mean a huge upgrade in a reactive defense that imploded. One that could neither pass rush nor help the secondary with the withering mid-field strikes. But I digress, dude.

Eric Steinbach or Leonard Davis playing guard.
Mike Gandy Tackle

thats it for the OL, i think Colombo is dallas best OL right now, and he deserv4es another contract.

If owens is gone i'd like to see Joey Porter in Dallas. Porter is getting released, and has gotten a bad rap in Oakland. and this is the feeling all thru the bay area.

In Tampa Simms and Gradkowski are more expendible then Rattay. I really can't see them overhauling the whole O-line, three at the very most.

all this OL talk is the result of them releasing allen. u think parcells is kicking himself over letting allen go, or jerry regretting parcells talk him into letting allen walk? he had a awsome yr in SF this yr. when gore had a big run it was usually from a monster block by allen. when they pulled a guard it was usually allen, and gore running behind him.

u have to question now, was it allen that looked like he was getting old, or was it this stupid coaching scheme?

Joey Porter may have gotten a lot of things, but a bad rap is not one of them. Buyer beware.

FS Deon Grant 6-2 210 from the Jags would be an excellent signing.

Could be the best FS we've had since George Teague IMO.

Since LA had four games rest this year, maybe its not suprising he lasted longer then usual. HOWEVER- I watched the 49rs last game and LA was gassed by the 3rd QTR. We made the right call; overall, Kosier outperformed LA this season.

I still feel Watkins can do it, I'm sure Grant is going to want a bunch of money.
The only FA I really like is Steinbach just so we can get rid of Rivera.

Rattay is a UFA...he can go where he wants....and in TB he would be #3.....in Dallas he would be #2.

I understand that signing all those OL would be expensive, but if we get rid of what I consider garbage (about 10 players currently on the roster) we could have about 8-10 million extra to play with.

I also feel Joey Porter would be a nice pickup. He is disgruntled cause he wants to be a #1 WR.....he is the present day Marcus Allen. You would think after Allen, Davis would have learned. I would take Porter in a heartbeat....trade TO for Porter straight up....I am sure Davis would go for it. Imagine TO and Moss on the same team....Lockerroom dynomite no doubt. Porter is younger, cheaper, and has more upside presently than TO.

Ideally I would like this to happen (and this is more financially feasible)

Sign (5 FAs)
OG Eric Steinbach (Cin) - 4 yr vet, a top NFL guard
OT Tony Pashos (Balt) - 4 year vet, a solid LT
QB Tim Rattay (TB) - young, experienced vet, cheap, and has been relatively productive when a starter
DT Terdell Sands (Oak) - young, huge, and coming into his own as a runstuffing DT
and 1 of these guys depending on our scheme
LB AdaliusThomas (Balt) - if we stay 3-4
DE Dwight Freeney (Indy) - if we go 4-3

Keep the following FAs
UFA
DE Kenyon Coleman
OT Marc Colombo
G/C Andre Gurode
RFA
WR Patrick Crayton
LB Ryan Fowler
LB Junior Glymph
C Al Johnson
P Mat McBriar
TE Brett Pierce
ERFA
DE Stephen Bowen
S Abram Elam
LS L.P. LaDouceur
OG Cory Procter
DE Jeremiah Ratliff

Trade TO and Flozell Adams for Jerry Porter and 3rd Rounder

Cut or Do Not Resign:
Drew Bledsoe
Marco Rivera
Jason Fabini
Lousaka Polite
Al Singleton
Jacques Reeves
Nathan Jones
Keith Davis
Marcus Coleman

Sign
OL Coach Gibbs - he would turn our OL into a dominant force.....show him the money JJ

These moves would make me very excited heading into the NFL Draft.....

He would not be behind Gradkowski. They will hold on to him.

We can't overhaul the entire Oline in one offseason. Steinbach and Pashos/Manuwai would be a good start, though.

Trading TO for Porter would be asinine.

I am intrigued by Rattay, though.

Manuwai resigned with Jacksonville last week, I would love to see Steinbach or Deilman here. Maybe even Deon Grant to play FS.

I thought I saw last week or two weeks ago that Jax resigned Vince to a new long term contract.

i missed the Manuwai signing.....so if he did resign with the Jags...cross him off the list....

why would trading TO for Porter be asinine? I do not mind if you disagree with me, but at least explain why you disagree. I have explained why I feel we should go after him.....if you disagree just explain why....maybe your reasoning may cause me to change my mind. Maybe you know more about Porter than I do....

BTW, Deputy are you happier here than you were on DCFU....i stopped posting over there in early November....they started being rude and disrespectful....it ticked me off so I stopped posting. Plus it wasn't as much fun without Latin, Roy, and you.

Porter, imo is a bit of a tease displays worlds of physical talent but rarely shows it in big games. He's also more of an attitude problem than TO will ever be.
