All I know is they were and have been pretty cutting edge for college FB and they were letting Moore call his own plays on the reg.

The guy does know how to diagnose a read and do things, but will it work with the talent our offense has?

Pedersen's offense had souped up WRs/undersized TEs functioning as H-backs.

So the true fullback type like you are thinking about was not utilized much.

This is very much like Pedersen's approach. There was no "offense", they ran a collection of plays that were built around numerical mismatches and a show and deceive style.

The Broncos offense in the Kellen Moore years was mostly 11 and 10 personnel run out of the shotgun. They called it a spread offense at the time, but it's basically the baseline NFL offense a decade later.

That being said, they did use a dedicated old school style FB in power and short yardage situations. Looking him up, said FB actually hung around in the pros for 4 seasons with the Panthers too.

That is all wonderful, wonderful news. Sounds like the complete opposite of Garrett and Linehan. I just have a hard time believing we are scrapping Garretts lame system. All in one year? Just dont see it.

For 4 years Trey Burton was listed as the only fullback on the roster. And now it’s Dallas Goedert.

yes, but neither one are I-formation fullbacks.. the Eagles don't do I-formation.. they line up the TE2 offset and motion him back and forth like an H-back.. but he's much more likely to be a pass catcher than a lead blocker. No need for a FB when you have a TE2 who can move, block, and catch. Jarwin seems like a decent candidate for FB on our team.

Watched the first two drives and it looked horrid. Looked like Garrett 2.0. No movement, boring, nothing.

Pedersen's first few years in Washington have brought some complaining from their base when scoring actually went down when he took over. The Moore ideology hopefully is not an exact tired clone of that. But we have seen that before when Jason Garrett continued what he learned from Turner and Zampese.

It should be easy to tell and early at that how it is going to work out. And if it does not, we will get that Moore is "in training".

I'm not sure but they better have some involving the TE running two yards catching the ball and falling down for Witten or we might as well write the entire year off.

on # 2, that requires good execution, and qb having time to throw, so I have my doubts on dallas being able to do this properly.
They struggled with pick plays, could not execute them right.

on #1 I doubt kellen is going to install the same offense Boise had when he played there.
He may use some things from it, but I would like to think he would create something new, based on Boise and what he has learned
since being in nfl.

Even better, I hope he has the good sense to look at the players he has and devise something just for them.
if he designs a offense and then forces them to try and do that, then I doubt it will go smoothly. good at times bad at times.

Dak especially needs a offense tailored to what he does best , use his strengths, and not force him to do things he is weak on.

Had to get Cooper before going to that style because throwing to a spot with Dez as the WR would fail 100% of the time.

I'm not too excited about Witten returning.

Reportedly they have said his snaps will be limited which was the biggest problem in 2017 when he still played 100% of the offensive snaps in most games.

I wonder if he'll re-retire during/after training camp if he is not better than in 2017.

Lack of formations hasn’t really been the problem. Poor protection and nobody to throw it to has been the problem in 2017 and early 208. But it’s fun to pretend sometimes.
