What happened to Bledsoe?

Last year even late in the season he was playing better then he did at any time this regular season. That concussion he got against minnesota does loom in my mind. Sooner or later thata kind of punishment and abuse will mentally start to mess you up. He was starting to think about the rush and look for it and anticipate it. And that was what was happening. And I think he knew it- and he was trying to make up for that by improvisation; which did not work. That was the last straw for BP. I think he knew he was going to have to make a change; but that improvisation- THAT DID NOT WORK (and results have always been BP's real benchmark)-was what finished him off.

He sacrificed himself far more this year than before and as was stated above, it is no coincidence that his worst games occurred in games when he dove for TDs (Eagles and Giants) or when his back was hurt sliding for a 1st down (Jacksonville).

Face it, he looked great early on against the Jaguars then he ran for a first down, hurt his back and was never the same after.

Do concussion have an effect on someone's past???

Drew has been the same QB since he started 13-14 years ago.... a few good game and then a few bad games... this year he has been about winning against bad teams and losing to good teams

He's had problems taking sacks in the past but this year was different. I actually think it goes back to the end of last yr. I think he developed some mental block like a 2nd baseball throwing the ball in the stands over the 1st baseman's head and just couldn't get past it. He just focussed on the rush and froze.

yes, but getting the ball to TO always ran through his mind, and i think hurt his progressions

He wanted to get TO the ball so much he stared down Glenn?

Go back and watch the Oakland, 2nd Skins, 2nd Giants, Seattle, and Rams games from last year.

You make out like he singularly cost us the Seahawk game. I guess the inability to kick an easy FG and the defences inability to hold a lead when the Seahawks were trapped inside their 20 with two minutes to go had NOTHING to do with the loss, it was just Bledsoe's last second INT (granted a dumb error that never should have been made).

He has been in the league since 93 ............

Its over unless he gets a probowl O-line ........

it has happened to better Qb's than him .......... see Aikman.

The reason is... he is just a stats guy with a great arm that can play well some of the time... his great arm will never be teamed with a great mind... he makes poor ROOKIE like decisions STILL.

He lost his job to Brady.
He lost his job to Losman.
He lost his job to Romo.

Need more?
WOW that is rather eye opening. What a way to go out.

Uh, Romo, so far has not "scrambled"...not like a Vick or any of those other supposed "mobile" QB's. He's does just enough to take what the defense gives him, and it's usually on 3rd and short for a first down.

Madden even said that that's the kind of QB you need in todays NFL...someone that can run maybe 4 or 5 times a game to get first downs. Romo does not scramble all around waiting for someone to come open, if he cannot run for a first, he will throw it away...

Now, when he does run for a first, I hope the coaches talk to him about sliding...but, Romo, in this past game, did not run around like a chicken with it's head cutoff like Vick or McPuke does...

As soon as a QB is out of the pociket he is fair game and some defensive player will take him out. Roy Williams would be licking his chops against Romo. Dallas can't establish a pocket and that spells trouble when he's out there. He'll be successful until he gets his *** pounded into the turf. Vick, McNabb, McNair etc can't stay healthy, it's doubtful Romo can. But it will be fun while it lasts.

Brady was a huge upgrade
Losman is a major disappointment
Romo is good so far. Let's hope.

Dallas was paying chump change for Bledsoe. To expect a superstar was not realistic.

What does that have to do with expectations?

We got Drew and expected him to get it right... to go out Elway-esqe..... Money had NOTHING to do with it.

As far as I'm concerned, I think age and hits became his doom. The guy wasn't accurate last year, constantly skipping balls to players on out routes. He would complete alot of them, but he was go a couple of 3 plays throwing the ball completely inaccurate.

He's been a warrior in this league, and he has slowly faded in talent. When I say talent, I mean mentally too.

I'm not defending it. I like Romo a lot so far.

I'm just saying the fans expectations of Bledsoe were not realistic in Dallas. He's a bus driver at this stage and the defense and ST have also been pretty pathetic at times. What would the record have been with a decent kicker last year? 12-4 is my guess. Not bad for a bus driver!!

Romo better keep the #'s up and the errors down or he will suffer just like Bledsoe. Dallas needs a top 5 QB to win because the D is still very inconsistent. It'll be great is this is a repeat of New England's Cinderella 2001 but Dallas 2006 defense and NE's 2001 defense are still miles apart at this stage.

Guys like Ty Law, Tedy Bruschi, Richard Seymour have not emerged in Dallas yet. Lets hope they do but NE didnt let players like P. Burress and S. Moss run wild in the back field and they forced turnovers like it was going out of style.
