What happened to Cedric Wilson? I thought he was going to have a big year. Is there just no room for another WR? Cooper and Gallup have taken a backseat to Lamb. It’s not just Dalton, I think Lamb is the #1 now.

hes our 4th wr only so many balls to go around..this is an odd thread BTW who cares what Ced did or didnt do when you have 3 better Wrs in front of him plus shultz, my guess Shultz took his balls because no one knew he would be this reliable a TE1....

Lambs not the #1 Coop has ben the most consistent.

look at the number in all games coop was the leader a few game after dak went down AC caught passes wth nooch and Gilbert where the other disappeared,,..Dalton stabilized things but Dak knew this offense better and put up few more yards..

With how Cooper, Lamb, and Schultz are playing, there’s just not enough balls to go around.

Dak was more efficient at spreading the ball around than Dalton is.

Agree. As Coop is supposed to be the first WR option, I believe the additions of Lamb and Schultz make Wilson's snap count availability an issue and even limits Gallup's opportunities as well.
So exactly like you said, not enough balls to go around.

Team has been running fewer 3 WR sets in an effort to block it up better.
Wilson isn't getting much run and looks to have fallen to 5th at WR.
But that's not a large drop as he was always in a 4/5 battle with Noah Brown.
Brown didn't do much last week so we'll see if they give Wilson those targets this week.

Exactly, we have had how much transition at QB, Dak, Dalton, Gilbert, Nooch, its amazing that Lamb and Coop have performed, esp Lamb being the rook in that environment.
Both need to be long term part of this roster being paired with some stability at QB, this offense could get back on rythym,, OL doesnt need 1st rounders at every position, this organization from Jerry down, took having the Best OL in the game just a bit for granted.
NFL stands for not for long.

The point that Noah Brown is getting more playing time, more targets than even Cedrick Wilson, should let you know the state and place of Wilson in the offense.

- Either it's been a lack of progress for Wilson as a WR as the season as progressed on, or the Seattle game was a totally fluke and a case of taking advantage of constant blown coverage by the Hawks.
Frankly I really don't think there is anything special about Wilson's receiving ability to be excited about his future here. I think he's more of a gadget- gimmick guy and special teams role guy.
i'm really wanting a more legit speed-return in the mix in the future vs Brown and Wilson, but that's maybe just me.

- We dunno what coverages are being thrown at-around Cooper, that changes the read progressions of the QB. maybe the QB see Lamb opened up more and away from any bracket coverages
that could make Dalton more reserved to throwing at Cooper's directions, and the more opened Lamb.
Gallup came up with a TD snatch vs Niners, but his game has been up and down even with Dak, drops and iffy routes still plague Gallup, imo. but he still has big play skills waiting to happen.

- My biggest push and urgency is the QB getting the thrown passes to the WRs period … we have to have them getting the ball and touches in the pass game than any other position.
if Cooper is blanketed or hung up, ..then the ball comes to Lamb,.. if both of those not there - then it comes to Gallup.
At least one of those big 3's have to be doing something significant and ongoing throughout the game.

Noah brown is the only wr on this team apparently

cooper has taken a backseat to Lamb? How so.
Unless you’re referring specifically and only to last game?

Wilson started this season with almost nothing and then he climbed in targets while Gallup started trailing down. Then Dak got hurt and no other QB can find Wilson since.

I really like Wilson, have since they acquired him, every coach he's had in the NFL has only said positive things about him. He was emerging this year, Dak was going his way a lot there for a bit, but Dak's injury totally stunted his growth this year.

Wilson got 7 snaps in weeks 1 and 2 combined. In weeks 1-5:

Gallup: 17 rec on 28 targets, 1 TD, 348 yards, 1 100 yard game

Wilson: 12 rec on 17 targets, 2 TD, 163 yards, 1 100 yard game

Wilson's 3 game stats scaled to 5 full games: 20 rec on 28 targets, 272 yards, 3 TD

Just for fun, Wilson's 3 game stats scaled to 16 full games: 64 rec on 91 targets, 869 yards, 10 TD

Hopefully his disappearance will tank his market value and we can bring him back cheap. I think you could trade Gallup, sign Wilson, and give him a floor of 45 catches next year, maybe a ceiling of 65. Hard to say for sure since there's all the moving pieces of Jarwin's return and Gallup's hypothetical departure and Lamb's growth in his first full offsesson.

This is the type of player that a guy like ARod would turn into an awesome #2 WR for a couple years IMO.
