He just doesn't seem the same at all. His play has been mediocre to poor. Tyron Smith is our best O-lineman and he's only 20. How do you think Smith will end up as LT? how many pro-bowls do you predict Smith will get to

I was disappointed when we named Free the starter at LT. He was better than I expected. I hope he is a great RT. It is clear we have a franchise o-line player. We shift the line late if we are out. Playoffs are a different story.

I dunno, I thought Van Den Bosch was held in check for the most part...

I agree I thought he did play a lot better in the Detroit game then the 49er game for sure. He got eaten alive in that 49er game.

I think Free will be alright. Dallas may end up making the switch next in the future but as of now I don't think it will happen. Just remember LT will face off with the best pass rushers in the league and the position is a much more difficult than the right side.

I think he's been playing with an undisclosed injury. As some speculated already, he looked like he had some sort of shoulder or arm problem he played through.

oline has to be a coordinated unit, when they fail, many times it is not completely the fault of an individual--and in the case of a vet in the midst of a bunch of youngsters, the vet is distracted by his attention to helping the rookie--give the young guys a little time

He played much better against the Lions.

Yes he did play better vs the highly touted Lions front. I still expect him to be the starting right tackle next year. The kid is a beast and will be one of the top LT's in the NFL.

OL guys play as a unit.

Free started TC with Kosier next to him, a guy who he works well with. Then he got Nagy, then he got Dockery, then back to Nagy.

One of Kosier's strengths is his work at line calls - he was likely in Free's ear all game with help.

Free played pretty well against the Lions, while Smith got thrown to the ground like a child at just about the worst possible time in a game it could happen and gave up a sack. Neither guy has been perfect, and taken as the whole season so far, Smith has played better, but RT is his natural position anyway.

In the future who knows what will happen, but they're good where they are for now.

Excellent points.
