As a rookie he liked quick. He could break tackles. Now he's just a guy. We nerd more from our starting tight end and he's not capable. He's not fast and his size is below average. He's a below average blocker. In my opinion, his greatest strength is chemistry with dak..

Ferguson is suffering from what I call SCCD which stands for:
S- Second
C- Cowboys'
C- Contract
D- Disorder

Symptoms include but not limited to: reduce productivity, increased TOs, disappearances in big games, and occasionally beating up on a weaker opponent.

Smith and Bland were down with SCCD as well to varying degrees

Ferguson had a whopping 19 receptions his rookie season.
That said, if you look at the TE production during Schottenheimer's 3 seasons as OC in Seattle the leading TEs had 269,262 and 239 yards receiving.
His offensive design the TE mainly functions as a check down option and to hold zone defenders underneath to open intermediate routes for WRs.
It's not so much that something happened to Ferguson but the design of the offense!

LOL, good one!

He is an average player and the check down king inflated his numbers

Jerruh screwed up as usual signing him to a big contract. He’s average at best as a receiver, below average blocker, and consistently gets tackled in open space by a single DB. Absolutely Ridiculous for a TE his size.
