What happened to the buzz about Deion?

did Deion just flatout refuse JJ? why is it taking 2 whole days of meetings with Shottenheimer? he's been on staff for what the last 3 years? I don't understand it.

It was never a thing, just a way to keep Jerral in the news. At best it helps prime get a few more dollars from CU.

Also, prime would make the Jones` mad by taking away mic and camera time.

I just think there was lukewarm interest at the time. Plus lots of barriers

-Sanders wanting to coach his son
-The buyout
-The salary he wants
-The potential control

Maybe too much for Jerry to seriously consider next steps. We'll see how it unfolds, but it seems more like a Madden scenario.

Did you see what he did after arriving at Colorado....basically cut the whole team or told them to find a different team....NO WAY Booger would have let him selectively weed out the team on his own....which needs done BTW.

Well, this is what happens when you pay attention to social media.

All those comments were created by people whose paycheck depends on them producing a certain amount of content every single day, of every week, of every month, of every year of their sports journalism “career”.

Hint: most of them aren’t “connected” to any “insiders”.

It doesn’t matter if it is based on real information, regurgitation of what their competitor posted 20 minutes before they hit “submit”, or it’s just something they completely fabricated straight out of their butt because they only had 4 out of the 9 required “social engagement opportunities” that day to hit their social media algorithm.

There seemed to be those close to Deion who have said he'd take the job if offered. However, in his conversation with Jerry, he may have told Jerry what it would take to get him to agree and Jerry moved on.

you could make that argument if Deion had contacted Jerry, but the facts are Jerry called him.

They just talked on the phone, because they're friends and as said above it was mutually beneficial. There was never an actual interview, which means it was never serious.

People should know by now that "media buzz" means nothing, especially with this team.

Bingo...with no actual interview its really nothing more than a talking point for the media to get eyes and clicks. A guy who has been with the team for multiple years now has to go through multiple interviews for the job, at the very least we would have heard about Deion doing some sort of long form interview and at least video call if there was any substance to him coming to Dallas.

That call could have been anything. Possible Jerry was getting Deions interest level. Could be that they talk frequently already. Could be Jerry is trying to get a jump on players to scout for the Shrine bowl at the end of the month.
