What Happened to this BP Theory

Not that I am knocking Romo....but I remember last year BP said he wanted a QB to be a truck driver. Just manage the game.....

BP said the QB is not an important part of the game.

Now this year....if that were true....Bledsoe would be racking up yards to the Pro Bowl...instead he is a bridesmaid for other more nimble playmaking QB that can dynamically make plays with their legs and arm.

Just a thought.....chime in.

Actually BP said "bus driver" once about 3 or 4 years ago. It was in reference to his priorities for a QB, meaning if nothing else...don't LOSE the game.

Since then, the quote has been re-hashed so many times, it's easy to think he said it last year.

Well, that's the irony of Romo helping to save Parcells' legacy.

He's not the kind of QB Parcells has often said, he wants.

That's why I think it'll be a great balance. Romo is kinda wild...Parcells is kinda conservative.

The middle point is working out quite nicely.

When you have a strong D and a good running game, you do not need your QB making plays. thats a bus driver. BUT as has been shown, unless you have a GREAT D, a bus driver will not win you a SB.

it was a bus driver and that was 3 or 4 yrs ago and i believe he looked and seen the qb prospects here at the time and said please god if qc can just be a bus drive thats about all i can expect from him. but qc got stoned and wrecked the bus

The "bus driver" comment said by Parcells is often misinterpreted to mean that Parcells only wants a "bus driver" QB, which is so far from the truth. You all are fooling yourself if you think Parcells wouldn't like a Manning, Brady, Aikman, or Palmer on his team.

The comment was made in the context of a team that was developing, and not contending for a championship. Phill Simms was never considered a bus driver. Neither was Bledsoe. And Vinny had his best years under Parcells, and wouldn't have been considered a "bus driver" during his stay on the Jets.

And Romo is certainly NOT a "bus driver".

It does everything... AWD, goes in forward, reverse and sidways real well....

I get your point... but BP is no fool.. he has never had this many weapons on one team before... its like going to a shooting range and just being the "pull" boy.... sometimes you wanna pull out all your guns and shoot too

It's funny that BP would say that, he won his 1st Superbowl with Phil Simms who was like 21 of 24 or something like that in the Superbowl. The highest precentage of completions ever in the game, at the time at least.

Yes the bus driver theory....I cant say his other QBs Simms and Hosetiller actually inspire outstanding performances. That thinking carried forward with bringing in his ole boy....Bledsoe.

I dont think the media has the balls to ask him if Romo is a bus driver. Romo is not a bus driver....he is a playmaker. Pure and simple.

With that....which totally contridict BP's statement.
