What Happens First between Favre and the Packers

Yesterday former Packer President Bob Harlan was commenting on the fact that Favre will not show up for Mike Holmgrens July induction into the Packers Hall of Fame. The Packers reached out to Favre to get him to Green Bay but he refused to return their calls. Harlan felt that would have been the beginning of a potential reconciliation between Packer fans and Favre. Harlan went on to say that the team and Favre need to reconcile before his induction into Canton.

I can tell you guys that Packer fans are still angry with what Favre did after his retirement. For a guy that owned the state of Wisconsin, he would have trouble now getting a seat at Denny's. If a retirement ceremony was held any time in the next two years half the crowd would be booing and the other half would be silent. It would not be pretty.

It may have to wait until after Mike McCarthy and Ted Thompson are gone from Green Bay which by all accounts will be years. So what happens first? Favre inducted into Canto first or into the Packers Hall Fame. I say Canton. He will be a first ballot hall of famer when he is eligible in four years. That would mean the summer 2015 or three more football seasons. I think that is still too soon for Packer fans to forgive and forget without Favre making the first move. Harlan is right tho. Holmgrens induction with Favre there would have been a start.

Which retirement?

:laugh2:

Never liked the guy, and feel he got a pass when others would have been blasted for being hooked on pain meds. Not to mention overrated.

I'm not sure how he got a pass. The dude checked himself into rehab and got cleaned up before he got into legal trouble or got someone hurt or killed.

To each their own I suppose.

He'll likely wind up in Canton first because it would seem he has zero desire to have much to do with the current management of the Greenbay Packers.

Despite your poor taste in NFL teams, I agree with you completely. ;)

I was surprised he got such a warm welcome on his return trip to GB after giving those fans the whole 4 inches after he left. I can't stand the guy, anyway, so it comes as no surprise to me at all that he's behaving like a child here.

I think your current QB is a better player than Favre ever was, anyway, frankly. Not that he'll rack up the same type of yardage, but if we're picking teams, I'll take Rodgers and you can take Brett and I'll beat you six out of ten times.
