this might be a stupid question
but what happens if dallas and the giants both have the same record and they are both 3-3 within the division
who wins the division since we are both 1-1 against one another

:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Conference record I believe.

It's not a stupid question...

If we both wind up at 10-6 for example. the Gnats will have the better conference record at 9-3 to our 7-5.

The Gnats have only lost to Seattle, Chicago and the Boys in the NFC.

The Boys have lost to Iggles, Gnats, Skins, Aints and would have to lose to either the Iggles again or the Lions to wind up 10-6 and a 7-5 conference record.

That's all well and good, but common opponents in the third tiebreaker after head to head and division records, no conference record

It's not a stupid question but it won't matter after we best the E-Gals next week. :D

I believe this is correct....

We have 10 common opponents over 13 games.

Each other twice
Iggles twice
Skins twice
Tampa Bay
New Orleans
Carolina
Houston
Tennessee
Indianapolis
Jacksonville

The Boys are 7-5 right now and can only be 8-5 at best.

The Gnats are currently 6-4 and could be 9-4 at best.

ooops, I guess games against each other don't really count as common opponents?

Anyway, you get the idea. :)

For this to happen, we'd have to lose out.

Now suppose if Giants gets 9-7 and also a BIG IF we also 9-7, why does we are playoff bound but not Giants even though their conference record is better ?

we would both make it as wild cards cuse both teams hold tiebreakers over falcons and panthers.

If we lose to the Lions at home...we don't even deserve to be in the playoffs IMO.

agreed

thanks for the input guys... its much clearer now
but dallas will beat philly and thats it, its a rap!

another ?
shouldnt we be rooting for the giants to beat the saints so that when we beat the eagles, we'll be one game ahead of saints and have the #2 seed?

thanks :starspin

yup, if we win and the gnats beat the saints, we just have to beat the lions at home and well get a bye!! that should be easily done even with bledsoe at qb!!
