What happens when the dallas cowboys get healthy?

How good do you think we can be this year?

If they start 1-4, it won't matter but they can be very good if everyone if healthy and the defense improves as the season moves along.

I just hope we can make it to the bye week at least 2-2, if not 3-1. If we do then I see great things for the rest of the season.

They, like every other team will have guys banged up all season long. It's just a question of "who" and "how long".

That's the NFL.

At this point the Cowboys only have 1 guy on IR, which makes them healthier than a lot of teams.

Yeah this is the big thing, not alot of long term injuries (knock on wood). We should be better for it in the long run, cause it means our backups will have experience and can step in if needed easier.

But it is hard to see player after player report an injury, we just have to hope the backups can step up. I do wish we would keep our injuries more quiet, but Dr. Jerry just likes the attention on him and the franchise, so I guess he feels that we have to report every bruise.

i can see a little winning streak coming, hopefully our season is still alive when we get everyone back

They'll probably go to opening day at The Ballpark at Arlington, because it'll be baseball season by then.

I didn't realize injured reserve lists were all the injuries teams have to deal with.

If a player is out and not on IR, does that mean he's healthy? I don't get it.

Show me a team that has their franchise QB playing with broken ribs and a punctured lung, their starting RB with a separated shoulder and both their starting wideouts with leg injuries that will cause them to miss at least one of the first three games.

None of these players are on IR. All of them are injured and have negatively effected the team.

The skins have everyone at full participation this week except Landry who was listed as limited participation. I agree every team deals with injuries but not many are dealing with them like Dallas right now. Its on the verge of sinking the entire season before it barely gets started because these early games that seemed easy are no longer easy. If they don't find a way to beat the skins, they will start the season 1-4 because they will surely be underdogs to Detroit and New England. The season may come down to winning one of those two games to save it.

We still have a good chance to beat the Skins Monday no matter who plays, imo. The Lions was one of the games I figuered we might lose, I'll be very happy with 2-2 going into the bye and we should come out of the bye healthy.

The Pats only worry me a little right now. If we can keep bringing the pressure we should be able to slow Brady way down and I think our offense can hang with theirs anyway.

Based on what I've seen from our front 7, I think our defense is very close to returning to 2009 form or better once we get TNew and Scandrick back in action.

There are still a bazillion question marks around this team due to health. I really do think they are very close to turning the corner and becoming an elite team again, once healthy.

In response to all the injury opinions expressed in this thread......it's a mixed bag. Very grateful we haven't had any season enders. Those are killers and I expect a team like the Giants to struggle for that 8th win.

On the other end, you have an almost completely healthy team like the Skins who could get to 8 wins by default because of their relative health.

We're in the middle and short term, really hurting...perhaps. We just don't have all the info. Austin is clear cut. 2 weeks and he's back. Hopefully at 100% the rest of the way.

But Romo, Jones, Dez, Newman, Scandrick and Jenkins are tough to call. How effective will they be Monday night? How long will the injuries they have factor in and what's the likleyhood of aggrevating them.

Romo's is the most concerning. I've heard this could linger for 6 or more weeks. Causing him pain, limiting his practice reps like this week and maybe effecting his play more so than we'd like.

And that's if he gets lucky and does nothing to reinjure himself. But that's perhaps the bigger question. Give the protective vest, how likely is it he reinjures those ribs?

A few injuries shouldn't hurt us. Last year the packers lost 4 good starters for season and look what happened.

I think New England will be a great test. We could be relatively healthy heading up there in 4 weeks.

But to answer you question, good enough to beat the Pats on the road.

Ill gladly sign up for these little bumps and bruises any day. Nothing too major so far.

Romo has a broken rib and a collapsed lung... bumps and bruises!!! :laugh2:

A few would not. So far starters who have or will be missing time are Scandy, TNew, Austin, Dez, Costa, Nagy and Dockery. That's 7 instead of their 4. Additionally playing really banged up are Romo, Jones, Jenkins and maybe Witten, that's another 3 more starters.

The other problem with this is it's critical positions, top 3 corners missing time or playing beat up, QB, # 1 and 2 WR, center and LG and so on.

I still think we can win but to dismiss this as a few injuries is not representative of what's going on at the moment.

Sometimes IR is better in a way, at least you can replace him on the 53. When a bunch of starters are out for a few weeks, especially at any specific position, it makes it hard to not expose good young players to the waiver wire. I am sure with the recent problems at WR and O-line it would have been nice to bring in another vet at one of those positions but at the expense of who, Tanner? We will just hope that the team gets healthier as the season goes along, I am pretty sure a full off-season would have limited, to some extent, these injuries.
