What hurt us most this year

I have a question, what do you guys truly believe hurt us most this season? I think it was the lack of a quality kicker more than injuries or conservative playcalling or any other reason. We lost games against the Skins, Seahawks and Broncos directly because of missed FGs.

I think kicker needs to be a serious concern for this team in the offseason and needs to be addressed either through the draft or via free agency. If Vinateri is availabel I say this team needs to do whatever it takes to sign the guy.

if i had to pick just one thing, it would have to be the FG kickers.

I cant count the skins loss since that missed kick happened so early in the game, although it certainly didn't help. but the missed kicks late in both the Seattle and Denver games were devestating and likely cost us the games

Kickers hurt us. But I'd say it was simply the lack of execution down the stretch that killed the season. The Boys went to sleep on two divisional games that they knew would be tough coming in. And they knew what was at stake. So I'd just say the lack of execution/focus.

Injuries hurt us most- then the bad kickers. YOU can put about 4 of our losses to those. Only the 2 skins games really do not come into those problems- sure there was the missed FG in the first skin game but that one the D blew on mistakes. With all the young players mistakes will be made. The Oakland game - we blew that both on O and D; so actually I will say that we lost 3 games due to the injuries and the kickers.

it was between conservative calling and not having a FG kicker. i chose conservative play calling because Parcells knew we had kicker we couldn't depend on and he still played for FG's many times

I'll say it until I'm blue in the face, the team is 13-3 with a money FG kicker. Having said that, the conservative play calling IS the reason the games were so close. I'm getting sick of 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

Combined, Cortez and Cundiff cost us 3 games this year

3 kicks (all 3 inside of 35 yards) and we go from no playoffs to division champs

In todays NFL when EVERY game it seems is decided by 3-7 points it is beyond me that the Cowboys didn't consider the kicker a vital part of the team as opposed to just getting the cheapest best guy out there. You have to have a kicker in the NFL today. If we had one we would be playing, not next week, but at home the folowing week.

Kicking! Why Jerry hasn't forked over big bucks for a quality kicker is beyond me. The kickers cost us big time this year...a chance at the playoffs. Jerry WAKE UP!
