We need to get stronger in the trenches. Spears was a fall-back option if we weren't able to sign Bowen IMO. We still have a need at DE.

Cullen Jenkins needs to be a target.

It's crazy that we don't have a starting safety right now on the team.

Abram Elam is pretty much a given. He can play either safety spot. I think this gives the Cowboys flexibility. Maybe we're waiting for Huff's price to go down? If so, Michael Huff would be great for the other safety spot.

I'm tired of not having a solid fullback in Big D. Can we really depend on Gronkowski or Chapas? Let them fight it out for a spot on the practice squad, and sign the best fullback in the NFL. Vonta Leach needs to wear the star IMO.

EDIT: If we can find an upgrade at right guard, I'm all for it. Brian Waters could be a nice stop gap for a year, especially since he wants to finish his career in Texas. Justin Blalock is still available but may cost too much.

Who do you guys want?

I hope we do nothing, we'll either be able to win with a young team, or we will just continue building next year and add some pieces in free agency next year. No signing we can make now will make or break the season, so none are worth it.

None at all??? So who do you have as our starting safeties?

I don't think spears was a fall back plan. Listening to Jerry he stated that we underrated him, and learned that after the season.

AoA & Barry Church.

Does it sound like superbowl winning to you? Not to me either, but if we can do it, we saved a ton of money and are better off in the long run.

I'm on board with those moves!.. I'd say Elam and huff are neccesary! Can't go another year with putting too much trust in an aging T.New so we need reliable safety help! Also Jenkins would be a great addition but I think the boys jumped the gun by signing spears anticipating that Nnamdi would sign! Because if we sign jenkins does spears come off the bench? And does rat stay in the inside? But I would love to bring in a solid guard to work next to T.Smith! Possibly Blaylock or Waters.... Or go for the big splash with Carl Nicks!

Not signing a safety will definitely break the season..may not make it..but bet your ... That it will break it

if we're not gonna do anything then we might as well just blow the whole thing up to free up cap space a few years down the road for a proper rebuild because a lot of the good players on this team are in their primes now. Jerry is just dragging this thing out now like he did in the late 90s

Shore up the safety spots with two vets - Abram Elam and Deon Grant. Replace Igor with Ty Warren or anyone really.

If Dez, Sean Lee & AoA can start this year and be productive.
Tyron Smith starts this year and be productive
Next year: 1st round pick, Tyron Smith, Bruce Carter, DeMarco Murray, Dez, Sean Lee, AoA can all be productive, combined with the younger veterans Free, Miles, Jenkins, Spencer, F.Jones then Ratliff, D-Ware, Witten and Romo still at a high level, we are a super bowl contender again.

Look at the jets last year, year before, threw a ton of money at free agents and got dick squat, after this year, maybe next aswell, their window is closed and Sanchez will rot for a few more years before they draft a new QB. You build through the draft and supplement through the free agency when ready for a SB run, like the Eagles did this year. Like the Pats did this year.

I'm okay with Church but AOA can't even stay on the field in padless practices.

IF we sign Jenkins, Igor definitely should be traded to Houston for a 6th round pick. Get rid of the guy. a Spears, Ratliff, Jenkins defensive line would be nasty.

deunata williams still has not signed, he's UDFA, can sign him and throw him in the mix aswell. He's waiting for he right opportunity, no better scenario for him than Dallas at the moment.

Justin Blalock- Hes young and is a former Longhorn so maybe he wants to come back home. He'd give us a solid presence next to the rookie and be the final piece to retooling our OL.

Brodney Pool- Played under Rob in 2009 so he'll come in already knowing the scheme. I think he's a much better option than Sensy or Elam for SS. Certainly not an elite guy but he's fairly young and shouldnt' cost too much. Downside is he has a history of concussions but he managed to stay healthy last year with NYJ and enjoyed a good season.

Michael Huff- Depending on how much he's asking for... and I'm not sure of what Rob thinks of him but the familiarity is there.

Kenyon Coleman- Cheap depth option, played under Rob in Cleveland.

With only 2 weeks until the first preseason game we need to get guys in here on defense who have a familiarity with Rob's scheme.

I'm almost positive he's taking the year off because of his leg injury. He's still rehabbing.

I like Elam, Leach, and Waters -- Waters for a year or two as we bring Arkin along (or draft an NFL ready guy next year and let Arkin work on being Kosier's replacement). Jenkins isn't coming here to not start

I'm not 100% sold on Vonta Leach. He did great last year - or at least Arian Foster did. But the year before he was HORRIBLE! The Texans could not even punch the ball in from the 1 yard line with Leach. Arian Foster changed that, not Leach.

Olshansky would definitely be traded or released IMO if we signed Jenkins.
