What I hope to see in Philly

1. I hope to see the Newman/safety bracket coverage on Jackson that we saw earlier on Steve Smith of the Panthers. This kid is turning the NFL on it's ear with the big play TD's. I want to see the bracket coverage, even if the other guys nickel and dime us a bit, and I want to see McBriar hitting 40-45 yard punts high in the sky forcing Jackson to fair catch.

2. I hope to see the D-line pushing the pocket and our OLBs not over-committing for the sacks...McNabb is a beast to sack...he sometimes shrugs our guys off and scrambles around for huge passes in broken coverage...keep him in the pocket, pressure him, and make him throw over the line into tight windows...don't let them kill us with screens.

3. I hope to see Romo take the sack or throw the ball away when the blitz beats our protection...do not fumble or give up stupid plays trying to make chicken salad out of chicken ****.

4. If Dallas plays smart, stays away from holding too often against the blitz, protects the football, and makes Philly score on long drives rather than big plays, we have a good chance of winning in Philly.

Fans go crazy and hate to be slowly bled out by a defense giving up first down after first down, but I'm convinced that's the way to beat Philly. They love the big play and the whole team feeds off it. Make them earn their scores and don't freak out over long drives...this will lead to some scores and some turnovers.

Mnabb is not a patient dink and dunk guy ( a la Romo ) he will be looking for the big strikes always. If you frustrate him to a short passing game , he willthrow some in the dirt and misfire ( Remember Roy W -Saftey interception -3 yrs ago)

:laugh1: That was good.

Anyway... I agree with just about everything you had to say. Good post.

Excellent post.

You're exactly right. Troy Aikman once said something like "Donovan McNabb isn't accurate in the short passing game and it drives Andy Reid crazy."

I believe that - unlike it would be with most QBs - over the course of a game, that's the way to stifle the Eagles offense.

It would not surprise me if they try to go deep on the first play of the game. They are going to try to get the crowd fired up and duplicate what they did last year to us early.

I want to see Jenkins play press coverage on Desean Jackson and I want him to molest that little 160 pound pretzel. I also want to see more of Tashard Choice.

keys to the game:

1. be very physical with jackson at the line and safety help over the top, he is scrawny and can be knocked off his routes. eagles love the big play and usually the first throw mcnabb makes is a bomb to get the defense on its heels.

2. hit mcnabb when you are there in time and just put a hand on him when you are late. i remember new england players saying that when they are late they still put a hand on the qb (not a hit t get a penalty) just to let him know you are close so he gets uncomfortable.

3. protect against pressure up the middle
