... it makes it less likely that Dallas will retain Pasqualoni as defensive coordinator, no matter what happens with the head coaching position.

We still have Jerruh as GM.

He was never going to stay on as DC.

I like the better draft pick. The playmakers end at about pick 7.

I think Pasqualoni was done long before this game, as are the entire defensive staff.

The defense gave up 13 points. The offense gave up 14. I agree that I don't want Pasqualoni, but is that the only thing we should like about the loss? Perhaps our offensive coordinator isn't the best man for the job, and we'll get a chance to explore that better than we otherwise would have?

Are you suggesting Garrett was responsible for the pick sixes? Really?

The defense folded yet again. Same way with Colts, NO, Philly, etc., etc., etc.

The offense while not perfect, still put up over 25 pts with a 2nd and 3rd string QB playing.

This defense needs a complete retooling.

That's a different can of worms.

I do think the offense has shown it can move under Garrett, but the defense has been porous under Pasqualoni. I don't want any doubt to enter the equation on whether he stays as DC. Giving up a game-winning drive to the Arizona Cardinals should keep that from happening.

Paul Pasqualoni is no defensive guru but I love the threads that rip him apart when the defense has been dog dung all year. When exactly is it on the players? This defense, particularly the secondary has been swiss cheese all year. wade sucked, Pasqualoni sucked, we'll just bring in a hot shot DC and all the players will play well correct?

No, but the 27 up on the board definitely makes the defense look worse than it actually is.

Ball/Jenkins and their terribadness is just like Austin/RW and their stupidity.

Still, the defense only gave up 13 points. That's not terrible. I'd also say that I wouldn't blame Pasqualoni for the long pass on Ball/Jenkins, because their play there was just stupid.

The OC got a 3rd stringer to execute a TD drive. The DC could not get the defense to execute a stop on "the person that scared Paul Pasqualoni the most" Larry Fitzgerald. 4th and 15, the whole stadium and national TV know its going to him. No body on him at the LOS.

Yes the offense gave up 14 pts. But they still executed a TD, the D couldn't execute a stop when it was needed the most.

Agreed. The defense does fold when it's important. HOWEVER, the defense is not the only reason why we lost this game.

I do not want Pasqualoni back, either.

I want that to be a certainty.

Although I'd always prefer a victory, Pasqualoni's defense not being able to stop Arizona when it counted is the next-best thing. It needs to be absolutely clear that this team needs a new DC. ... I don't take it for granted with Jones that that is the case if Pasqualoni shows any signs of success.

defense will be changed and finally that horrible Buehler is a goner.

He is the head of this snake and has to be the first to go. I predicted most of the play calls myself in this game - rush 4, cover 2 zone was the predominant call. It's too vanilla and a rookie QB tonight showed that again.

Make no mistake, the secondary and DL needs significant upgrades. I never wanted Ball back there in the first place.

I think a good defensive coordinator can elevate the play of a defense through creative scheming. Phillips failed at this this season and Pasqualoni has no creativeness.

That doesn't alleviate the need for more talent to be added. But it would not surprise me if someone like Mike Nolan could take the talent that this defense currently has (and yes, there is some there) and turn this into a top-10 defense.
