Jerry could buy out Mike's contract with the money found under the couch cushions on his yacht. He's had no problem firing coaches before, other than the adopted son he anointed the next Landry.

Even Dak is less about money and more about ego. They ate millions getting Cleveland to take Cooper because Jerry wanted him gone. But Jerry not only paid Dak he mentions the words "Super Bowl" every other time he opens his mouth. He so badly wants to be proven right that he's trying to speak it into existence.

But the Lance trade was interesting. And while they keep talking about extending Dak it hasn't actually happened. If this team falls short of Jerry's Super bowl talk - and it likely will - changes could be coming. That sounds good until you remember the guys who made the decisions that got to that point will make the next decisions as well. It'll just be another case of rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. A new set of future scapegoats, and round and round we go.
he could do that. easily. but did he do it with Garrett? he waited until Garrett's contract expired, knowing full well what will happen the last two years of his contract. he may push MM to hire another OC, make some token changes, same story. same results.

Jerry cares more about money than he does football success.

no, its people like you who like to have it that way. what's different than the past 28 years?
Ask the poster I replied to

He bagged on Romo relentlessly but defends Dak no questions asked. Hence my comment about his agenda

I'm convinced that if he caught Dak in bed with his girlfriend or wife, he'd probably throw her out and then afterwards cook Dak some dinner and apologize for any inconvenience.

That's how insane and blindly he's devoted to Dak. It's evident and deserves to be spotlighted

I don't know that the SF game is typical for the Cowboys. They gave up a lot of yards to Arizona, but the offense actually outgained the Cardinals. Cowboys had about 180 yards rushing in that game! They gave up too many chunk plays on defense including a 45 yard TD run, one of 3 runs that accounted for more than half of the Cardinals 222 yards rushing. And of the 222 yards, all but 41 came in the first half! The broken coverage that led to the final Cards TD was a backbreaker.

The 49ers game saw a lot go wrong, including how the Cowboys played. But their game plan was bad, their executions was bad, and the 49ers just simply outcoached Dallas. They also showed they wanted it more. The Pollard fumble which refused to go out of bounds was a key break. So was the punt that landed on the 1 and bounced straight up in the air instead of carrying into the end zone.

The first play of the game, SF gave CMC the ball and Dallas swarmed to him and stopped him. They looked fired up. But then a 15 yard facemask penalty was called and after that the defense looked like the wind came out of their sails. They were on their heels the rest of the night. SF was ready to play Dallas. They obviously prepared better for Dallas than Dallas did for SF.

I do think this week is going to say a lot about the Cowboys. I don't like how they looked at the end of the game last week. I don't like some of what I am seeing this week. Quinn said they can't let the 49ers game beat them twice, but I can see that happening if they don't forget about it.

The Chargers are nowhere near as good as the 49ers, but Herbert is a good QB with a strong accurate arm. He also has a lot of leadership ability and we've seen him have some remarkable games to stage big comebacks, even in losing causes. The Cowboys will need to play 60 minutes.

I think this team is going to limp along. MM's scheme doesn't wow me, its predictable and 5 games into the season we are not going to see a big turn around. It doesn't fit the players. add to that Dak is not fit for this offense, and given he is not elite he is going to struggle. the WRs and TEs are struggling in getting separation and seem confused. top that with a running game that's struggling with a RB that was never RB1 in college nor pros and now we see why.

the defense IMHO has been figured out. take out Parsons and the rest of the defense is below average. Gilmore, although slightly better than Brown, is not great and struggles against certain routes and we are going to see team pick on him more. the run defense is atrocious.

Jerry pushed the first panic button. strange that MM decided this week to spend day and night at the facility to try and figure out. I bet Jerry gave him an earful. we will sin a few. lose a few and good chance missing the playoffs as the schedule is not going to ease up.

but, Jerry dug himself a hole. he doesn't like to lose money, so he is not going to cut Dak this offseason no matter how loud you scream. he won't let MM go, because he will owe him money. he held on to Garrett until his contract ran out. he knew the end result. so he will make a few token moves. generate hope as he always does. generate some buzz. sell tickets. sell jerseys. and go through 24.

then if it all blows up as it probably might. then he will move on, probably to Lance. half the fandom will rejoice, as all their hopes will be on Lance. some will declare here comes cowboys greatness. he will hire a young coach. maybe someone out of college. he will generate hope, yet again. and he will go cha ching, which is what jerry does. this is the most valuable franchise for a reason. this is the most profitable franchise for a reason. jerry is the ultimate salesman and we, or most fall for it. because we are Cowboys fans.

is this a doom and gloom comment? no. is this an overreaction to SF loss? again. no.
after 5 games I have seen enough to know what we have. and I have seen this very same story for the past 28 years. before Dak and people taking sides arguing, there was Romo and before Romo somebody else and it has been a continuous failure. that's why I will not buy any cowboys merchandise, go to the game. Jerry ain't get anything from me. but I am a 2% most probably

tell me I am lying?
When over 90% want Dak gone there is no "taking sides" As you state.
What we have here is a few Dak-Lovers selling their personal passions for a QB everyone is not happy with or wants gone!
The end.
P.S. Just some advice the longer the post does not necessarily make it more convincing or true!!!

Who TF is Donte Whitner? He's a damn nobody who did nothing when in the NFL.

Richard Sherman who was one of the best DBs in the history of the game flat out said the problem is not Dak but Mike McCarthy's horrible and old play designs which are antiquated and easily defensible.
You can stick to the career journeyman nobody Dante Whitner's opinion. I'll stick to the former Super Bowl champ, part of the Legion of BOOM, 3 time All Pro and 6 time Pro Bowler in Richard Sherman.
sherman is clueless. he didn't say dak sucks, so he doesn't understand football.

what's the difference? with romo, people took sides. now with Dak, some have switched sides. is anything different? Romo in NE would have had 2 rings. Romo under reid would have gotten at least one ring. Mahomes in Dallas will never see the superbowl. doesn't matter. as long as Jerry is in charge, we will continue to fail. the ceiling for Jerry's team regardless of who is coaching or playing is division playoff games.

but there was a chart that showed cowboys made almost twice as much money as the next NFL team. you think Jerry is going to change anything? why would he...........

Sounds about right.
We are never winning big with Jerry at GM.
It's too much of a handicap to overcome in the competitive NFL.

ok. Dak sucks. you got your wish. now what?
In the Dak/Booger dream Dak starts a streak never seen before winning his next 100 games without throwing an pick while averaging 400 yards a game and 4 TDs. We wins 4 Super Bowls in a row and he becomes a first ballot HOF'er.

Booger gives him 2% of everything Cowboy as his next contract.

In the real world none of this happens and he retires JAG riding the bench like Wentz.

Bud, you're acting childish again.
All I pointed out is there is no argument or debate when 94 % of our members don't want Dak as the team's QB.
Now is there a handful of members who simply adore Dako and place him above the team and try to excuse the unexcusable for him?
Yep, there is, and as they are very few now and should be taken with a dose of humor and excused for their misguidance as only a very mentally limited fan of the game still wants this tier 3-4 QB on the team!

Trey Lance could come in and do a decent job. Why is the delusional. I don’t think any of us have any idea what he’s capable of or not capable of.
Apparently the coaching staff has an “idea what he’s capable of or not capable of”. And he’s listed as the number three QB n the depth chart.

The defense hasn’t been figured out that’s ridiculous.

If we put points on the board and force opposing offense to be more 1 dimensional then it’s over for them. That includes the 49ers.

Our only real weakness is mobile QBs who can keep their eyes downfield.

Now if for some stupid reason Parsons goes back to MLB then the defense is done.
We've had 3 chances with the 49ers (including last two playoff games) and couldn't do it. Your post is almost as dumb as saying "all we have to do is score more points and we'll win"

But I'm sure it's definitely over for the 49ers next time we face them!

We held CMC in check last week to an abysmal ypg in rushing. Brock Purdy ate us alive anyway. They were 1 dimensional and beat us 42-10.

I was talking specifically about the defense.

The Cowboys defense is built to pin their ears back and attack the QB. That’s when they become unconsciously good.

I’m confident in this defense in type of situation I posted above and maybe it’s your ability to comprehend that is dumb.

Brock Purdy is not a mobile QB, he picked us apart. Your post is just nonsense. We'd be lucky to beat the 49ers 1 time out of 10. They're the worse matchup for us in the NFL, 2nd is Eagles.

If the Cowboys play with a lead it’s a different type of game.

It exposes the QB more when a team has to play from behind.

This is just football common sense.

I don’t care who you are.. If you’re facing the Dallas Cowboys and you have to throw the ball a lot to come back then you’re in trouble because our pass rush is just that good.

If we’re playing from behind or the game is tight then our defense has to play differently and not to their strengths.

If our QB turns into a turnover machine and can’t score then that impacts the way we play on defense.

I don’t feel like I’m saying anything controversial.

Our last playoff game we lost was more about Dak not generating any offense.

Last week it was a combo of no offense and turnovers.
