What I think the first big tell will be about our next Head Coach

I really get the feeling/wishful thinking the next HC is Belichick or Payton. I think Jerry has had a back channel deal in place for a long time.

EDIT - the media coverage will immediately be about a new contract for Garrett. If they want a current NFL HC, Jerry will mumble through talk about evaluations until the playoffs are over and the guy they want is actually available.

This Forum will completely melt down and be even more unreadable.

If the HC pick is Meyer or Riley, Garrett will be fired next Monday and it will be the "tell" that the new guy is a college coach.

I agree that if Garrett is fired next monday that it will most likley be a college HC to replace him.

They'll cut bait with Garrett asap either way.

If that is the case Dallas may not fire Garrett right away, they would mumble through talk about evaluations until the playoffs were over and the guy they want is actually available.

Garrets contract runs out after the last game so he will be out in f here right away.

Ok so technically it's not a fire, but media will know Garrett is leaving and taking all his things with him, some kind of info will be leaked that Garrett won't be extended, or maybe the Cowboys will just make a annoucement of no extension.

Isn't his contract up after the last game?

That's true but the media coverage will be intense on whether Dallas is negotiating to bring him back. Good point to all who pointed it out, I'll edit the OP.

Yeah I'm thinking it's the latter of those two

How do you feel about Dan Campbell and a really good staff? Payton has him as the assistant head coach there for a reason and I think that is to help him get a job this offseason.

I have to say I wouldn't mind Campbell but I worry Jerry would walk all over him and not take his opinions seriously.

also If campbell comes back I want him to grow his mullet back. He used to do interviews when fox sports radio had a station in Dallas and he was an awesome listen.

Bhahahhahaha... You seriously think that either of the coaches are going to put up with Jerry's BS? For real?

In no way will either come to this circus.

Expect another puppet of a coach. Get hopes up the first year, then, rinse and repeat. Failure season after another.

Honestly, I could see Garrett just sticking around in the halls clapping at staff as the walk by until they get security to escort him out, so you may not be too far off with the original thought.

Garrett won't be fired, Jerry will let the contract expire and it will either be spun that Garrett wants to pursue other opportunities or Dallas is heading in a different direction and there will be a big gushy nauseating thank you for his 10 years of ineptitude

Another one of those puppets like Bill Parcells?

No way Payton puts up with Jerry.... umm... except for the THREE YEARS that he coached in Dallas.

And show me one negative word Belichick has ever said about Jerry.

I think you are correct here. But is it just another puppet? I just don't understand why you throw a season unless it's a guy already under contract you can't get now. I think Jerry knew form the start this was Garrett's last year. That being the case makes this even more crazy.
