What I think what was huge regarding Bledsoe and TO.

This isn't exactly apples to apples.

For us, we have 14 games left and hope to make the playoffs. Losing a top player needed to get through the marathon season is different than not having a player for individual playoff games where if you lose once you go home.

I don't recall that McNAbb said it was no big deal to lose TO, just that the team had no choice but to play without him and he thought they could still be successful with the players they had.

Nevertheless, this kind of comment is BS - it's merely making exuses for TO. Frankly, no player is worth having to carefully weigh and measure every comment, action etc ..... to determine if it is going to offend his delicate sensibilites.

So far that hasn't been a problem - let's hope it stays that way.

I agree and McNabb was not the only player in Philly saying they could win despite the loss of TO. I think Dallas players should feel the same way, that is not a knock on TO.

What you should feel and what you should say publicly are often not the same thing. Bledsoe was smart.

There is truth in what you said. TO did not take the comment in Philly very well (I think he over reacted) but Bledsoe said the right thing and chances are avoided any blacklash with TO.

I agree that Bledsoe said the smart thing.

Of course, it really is the truthful thing as well.

But like I said, this wasn't the same as McNAbb's situation where you lose one game and the season is over - in that sitution it is vital that your team realizes very clearly that you have confidence you can and will win no matter what the circumstances. It isn't do or die for Dallas now.

No, once again, as always, McNabb is a dork and his comments reflected that.

Great athlete, but great dork as well.

He said something two years ago when Owens got hurt like, "we don't need TO to win, we won without him before and we can win without him now."

I agree that Bledsoe handled it much better. Witten too. And there was a third player quoted but I forget who it was.

But all said things like, "it is a shame because he and Drew were getting better together", "we will miss him", "we'll be glad to get him back", "it is a loss to the team". I thought it was perfect.

The same you would do for any teammate, not "we don't need him to win."

This will work in Dallas with Owens because we have a better organization, from top to bottom.

You can emphasize both. You can stress how big a loss a player like he is while going on to say that, while it will be more difficult without him, you still believe this team can win. Being a QB is part athlete part politician. McNabb is not very good at the latter.

The most important thing to me was when they showed TO with his hands in the air after GLENN scored his TD. That clearly indicates that he is celebrating WITH the team as PART of the team... and not ONLY concerned about his own stats.

He was also in the endzone celebrating with Crayton after his TD. I think TO is smart enough to know that he is going to get his. The hamstring and finger are setbacks, but he and Drew will be on the same page by midseason. And since most of our home games fall after that point, we should be just fine.

You're really reaching here...

Wow!!! A day after getting whooped your back for more.... I like that. Actually you should be worried about your team and you should be on your site helping to append that 700 page playbook you guy's aren't using...
