What I think you will see from Ryan as DC

he will look for players who can play multiple schemes (3-4 & 4-6). I think he will insist on 2 gap NT and move Jay to DE. Here could be glimpse of how Ryan might sprinkle in a 4-6 defensive alignemnt (modern day 4-6 that we saw his brother run at Baltimore). In this alignment a LB (Lee) can drop back into secondary or stay in box. Its exotic and would be fun to watch.

DL: DE-Bowen, DT-Josh Brent, DT-Olshansky, DE:Ratliff
LB: OLB-Spencer, ILB-James, ILB-Lee, OLB-Ware
CB: LCB-Newman, RCB-Jenkins
S - FA signing

we could also blitz Ware. It would be designed to get max pressure on QB ...you can blitz Ware or Spencer but idea is to get max number of pressure players (Bowen, Ratliff, Ware, Spencer) on field at same time. Baltimore used it with great succes.

Does Rob ever run that one down lineman scheme? The 1-5-5 or something?

shouldn't ware be one of the DE with his hand on the ground:confused:

He is so athletic that I think we would take the miss match of him as a blitzing LB

the thing that scares me about the 46 is the secondary could get torched if you dont have the pressure which means we defitantley sign a vet FS ball hawk and draft dl in round 1 is more likely to happen now.

Ware and Spencer would be ends in his 46 defense. 46 does not represent the formation. It was the # of the safety on the Bears. Wade Phillips ran the 46 early on here also.

Spencer could possibly play LB on the strong side, but Victor Butler or Brandon Williams probably could also and would make it more dangerous than having Bowen at end. Rat at T instead of Olshansky.

the fact that he is still at the ranch tells me they arent letting him go until a contract is signed. I am just excited about what Ryan may attempt to do. This is a big stage and I am sure he will pull all of his experience to try and do something special with a talented group on D ...just not disciplined yet.

Shaun Rogers would be a nice fit. Rob may want to try to get him

Paula assures me that there is no way in hell that Shaun Rogers is coming to Dallas. EVER. You just gotta trust her.

Ryan has said Rogers would be dominant in any defense. I would offer a trade for him.
