What I want from McCarthy for next year

Since we went 12-5, I assume McCarthy's job is safe no matter what happens tomorrow. One of the main things I want to see from him win or lose is sustained success. Under Garrett, we won the years that we had a weaker schedule and then faded when we had to play a first-place schedule. Feasting on weaker teams kept Garrett around years after he should have been let go. McCarthy needs to show that his teams can contend no matter who they face. There are a lot of factors that go into playoff success and winning Super Bowls, but getting to the playoffs is a different matter. Obviously, if his team makes the Super Bowl this year, he'll have earned some leeway, but regularly making the playoffs needs to be the bottom line of expectations for him.

In order for us to have success year after year, we need to get ahead of the salary cap for a change. Have to do something about Coop, DLaw, and Zeke.

100000%....besides winning the Super Bowl this is the most important thing for next season. Building a program that competes and wins the division every year. A perennial playoff team- more cracks at the apple the better the chance you get to a super bowl or win one.
