If the top 10 teams all decide to pass on QB in the 1st round then bunch of them will be trading back into the lower half of the 1st to get a QB. If Cowboys really like a QB then you need to pull a trigger at 16. Can't really screw around and trade back thinking he'll still be there. Some team will leap frog you and take your guy if you trade back.

Not happening

I could see Bridgewater or JFB, not sure what they think about Carr. BTW I think a QB will be there

Explain please.
Some have him rated above Bridgewater.

Historical trends. Most quarterbacks who do worth a flip in the NFL play right away. Even recent 3rd round successes like Foles and Wilson played as rookies.

I actually think history goes against you on this one. Most QB who sits a year or two have higher chance of succeeding compared to the ones thrown to the wolves.
Couch, Akili Smith, Carr, Ponder, Freeman, Russell, Sanchez, Young, Leinart.........the bust list is long when they are rushed into service. Unfortunately in the NFL today there's no time to groom a QB. Most coaches would love to have time to groom a promising QB than to ruin their confidence.
