How much better would you feel about the Oline?

Fabini Petitti
Rivera
Johnson Gurode
Peterman Kosier
Adams

I think Kozier will be adequate so if Peterman beats him out it would mean he's above average and that we all of sudden had quality depth at both guard slots and center. It would be like cashing in a lotto ticket. But I'd be lying is I said I thought that was likely.

To me, it is more about Al Johnson. He's reportedly gotten bigger this off-season -- if he can match that with improved technique then we've got a keeper as he is excellent in the mental aspect of the game.

I still have hopes for Peterman. We will see!

My main concern though is Center. I sure hope we know what we are doing with this position.

This thread just makes me realize how many 'projects' we have on our O-line. One of them has to pan out right? Please!

we gave kosier a starting LG contract...unless kosier is a complete flop i dont see kosier being paid that kind of money as a backup

Half of our running plays went south last year because of missed blocks. Evson so, Our offense wasn't too bad until Flozell went down. Part of the missed blocks were from the tight end position so we drafted the the most dominant blocking tight end in the draft according to TSN. Another part of the missed blocks I thought came from Larry Allen but I could be wrong. When he locked on to his man it was over but it seemed like he was still a little off balance a lot of times. If Peterman or Kosier can be more consistent maybe not as dominating but consistent I think we will have more sustained drives on offense. Sprano is probably growing as an OL coach since before he was only coaching TEs. That should be an improvement also.

We also have Colombo to backup at OT. Nice Depth overall, but nothing spectacular IMO to start other than Flo.

I'm still on the Peterman bandwagon... I think his ankle was hurt last year and he was basically a rookie, so he didn't have much chance. Mickey said the other day that he saw Peterman playing racketball and he couldn't believe how agile and quick Peterman looked. Even Mickey said he expected a big lumbering oaf, but Peterman surprised him with his athleticism.

Racketball definitely isn't football, but lack of athletic ability is what supposedly has held Peterman back... We already know he's tough, nasty, and a hard worker.

I wouldn't be surprised if he broke out like Bradie James or Jacques Reeves. Nobody expected much out of those guys, either, then suddenly they were contributors.

He won't start. Kosier was paid to start, not sit.

How long does it take Saban or Peyton to sign Peterman after we cut him?

Bradie did break out, but Jacques merely improved. Peterman hasn't seen the field as much as did a rookie Reeves, so the jury is off the page on him. I am an optimist, though.

C'mon.. that impossible!!! Don't you know that all of our linemen, other than Flozell are useless and wouldn't start on any other team in the NFL!???

Seriously though... maybe he's just a solid backup, since they did sign Kosier, but I guess you never know.

It took Brady 3 years to break out and he wasn't injured for a full season. Peterman was a good player at LSU so I still have hope for him. Remember, Parcells just said that Peterman would only be a left gaurd. With Allen gone, that atleast gives him a chance. Only time will tell.

I hope that Peterman becomes a "player" for us this year. Remember when we drafted him that he was surposed to have a nasty streak when he played. If he has now learned the position, it is definatly time for him to step up and be the player we all thought he would be. Plus injuries have really hampered him, now is the time...
