I read what you said. First part was dumb. 2nd part........if he did it in those seasons it looked nothing like Belicheck so he should stick to the basics

There was not really a "1st part". It was one statement.

Nolan had a defense of mostly late round picks and udfa types in 2014.

In the seasons that he had good talent he had good defenses.

Example:
2004 Ravens: 6th in point allowed, 6th in yard allowed
2003 Ravens: 6th in points allowed, 3rd in yards allowed

There are many other years where he had good defenses and almost all correlate to having reasonable talent on the defense as a whole. There were some years where he had a few very good players mixed in with no much at other positions and those seasons are mixed in terms of success/fail.

Lol yea he gets credit for the Ravens. Ok buddy. You stay optimistic about him. I'll hope for at best a top 10 scoring defense. Agree to disagree. Moving along.....

I think most of the 3-4 front we see will be disguised:

LDE: Lawrence 3T: McCoy 1T: Poe RDE: A.Smith
MIKE Vander Esche WILL: J.Smith

Line shifts:

LOLB: Lawrence LDE: McCoy NT: Poe RDE: A.Smith ROLB: J.Smith
MIKE: Vander Esch
That's an easy transition that can be disguised and IMO has players in a role that suits them. Aldon Smith at 290lbs with his length should be able to play 3-4 DE without too much trouble.
